With the pitch buried under 20cm of snow, surely best to call this off asap, given that freezing temps. mean it's highly unlikely to melt any time soon.

The weather is due to improve very rapidly in the next day or so, I suspect the issue is more whether the snow can be cleared off the pitch.

Yeah if they can clear the snow off the pitch it should be fine. I think you should get down there early and help out

:jester:

Would happily go down Saturday morning if volunteers are requested

Its not just the pitch, its also ensuring fans can get to/from the game safely.

wasn't that the case when we played Northampton(?) at home a couple of seasons ago , the pitch was playable but the walkways (especially under the bridge) were patchy?

There's also the stands that need clearing and that was the deciding factor for calling off one game-if I recall correctly.

Good luck if anyone is volunteering to clear the pitch and stands if need be, I'll be in the warm pub having a few pre-match beers wishing you all the best and hoping you get the game on for me.

I read somewhere the pitch hadn't been covered after the game on sat & it froze. So even if they can clear it & whatnot i dread to think what sort of state it'll be in.

The access roads are going to be the main concern i reckon.

Hartlepool V Southampton already called off.

Probably just the first of many.
