Potentially equally as strange as disputing it surely?

Not really. A guy and his adult son who sit in the row below me in East Upper are both regular booers and true to form they booed on Saturday. They also stated that they were going to Burton as they had already purchased their tickets. They may have decided otherwise of course.

After a moments thought I've come to the conclusion this series of threads is the most pathetic on NSC, which is quite some accolade on a forum with Timmy.

I wouldn't expect to see it on NurserySchoolChat:-

"I finished all my milky and Mrs Tinkles didn't come over and clap".

Well if he had come over and clapped the fans there would have been a thread started on here "Looks like Sami was saying goodbye".

People read far to much into small stuff like this. Some managers will clap, some wont. It is just their personality.

Quite.
If you watch football highlights every weekend you will see a high proportion of managers shaking hands with their oppo's and then disappearing down the tunnel. Personally, I don't give a jot whether the manager claps or not. Some fans seem to regard it as a given to receive a clap but I don't understand why. It is entirely at the individuals discretion ( players and management ) what they do at the end of a game. Some fans even take offence when the manager doesn't acknowledge his name when sung!
Fans get too precious and should forget about their commitment being acknowledged. They've made the effort in time and money...great..well done...but so have many others who place managers applause at near the bottom of the pile.
I shall be at Forest on Saturday. I will applaud the team out. I will spend about 60% of the game in constructive criticism. I shall spend about 20% of the game dishing out vitriol and abuse. I will spend about 5% of the game acknowledging fine play and the other ( approx ) 15% I shall spend in complete silence and contemplation. I may sing a little bit, depending on my mood. At the end, if we have achieved a result or played well, without the end product, I will stop briefly and applaud. If we have played below par or poorly, I will be out of there pronto, muttering expletives, a few shakes of the head and concentrating on how to get home asap.
The last thing on my mind will be whether Sammi applauds the fans or not. I'm only bothered what happens in 90 mins on the pitch.

Not one of the 650 legends that were there tonight were involved in the booing on Saturday. Hyypia must be a complete imbecile not to make that differentiation.

I for one won't be going to a match EVER again, as I feel personally affronted by Sammi's insult. Enough is ENOUGH, I note that he's a migrant too, #TapsNose

I'm sure that when Sami sits down for a performance review that clapping fans will carry far more weight than results and team development.

Anyone remember that manager we had called Gus Poyet? He didn't always clap the fans either. Nobody complained then as we were pissing all over League 1 did they?

Surely it isn't too little to ask is it?

Well done to all that went tonight, excellent voice throughout....

Pathetic.

I didn't see Tony Bloom waving to the fans, despite a prolonged rendition of Tony Bloom's Blue and White army. It works both ways, if fans want a big love in with their manager, they need to show some first.

I do get the impression some people are genuinely hunting for opportunities to criticise. I didn't even notice Hyypiä after the game, and I certainly didn't make a special point of ascertaining whether he was clapping or not. I totally accept that occasionally there needs to be some recognition of supporters, especially on bad days or particularly grim away trips. But FFS, I don't sit there feeling personally affronted if he leaves his players to soak up the applause occasionally.

Carry on Sami. Most of us really aren't quite that sensitive.

And some of us are not even in the ground on the final whistle:rolleyes:

This thread and the one about BBC coverage make people look very needy, if I may say so.

Poyet said the players did the hard work so they deserved the applause from the fans. I can remember McGhee being criticised for milking the fans applause, so either way some fans will find ways to criticise.

I think at the final whistle the mom should be giving a piggy back by r r who would be dressed in a sumo outfit,he would carry him to the brighton fans and throw sweets into the crowd while girls on film is blasted out from the speakers! Anything less is an insult!:moo:
