I think we'll be ok but the set piece defending is alarming. It's also not new. Potter's Swansea had the worst record in the Championship for conceding from corners and it looks like he's brought it with him.

Complete and utter rubbish.

Oct 5 2019 - BHA 3 : Spurs 0
Oct 26 2019 - BHA 3 : Everton 2
Dec 5 2019 - Arsenal 1 : BHA 2
Jun 20 2020 - BHA 2 : Arsenal 1

And that's all in the last 12 months !!!!!

Away games my dear. Another donut.

Fair but we never used to get hammered under hughton. I prefer potter but it's a tad demoralising at the moment.

But under Hughton, we would have defended for the whole game and walked away with a 2-0 defeat. It happened many times. I know what I prefer to watch.

And yet you didn't actually use the word 'away' once in your post. Regardless, I'll draw your attention to the Arsenal result - yet apparently we never pull off shock results. I'll have mine with sprinkles please.

The Everton squad is one of the most expensive assembled outside the big 6 clubs . Yes we got caught out defending our box deep from a couple of headers & got superbly hit on the break twice to .

We are still a club improving slowly in the PL & like it or not we are still quite a small club by PL standards . Getting players like Allan & Rodrigues is a game changer for Everton , it makes them a far stronger side than last season and they will very likely finish top 6.

What is slightly annoying is that apparently Rodrigues because he wanted a reunion with his old manager accepted a near 50% pay cut if the reports are correct to £75k a week . If this is true , he must be bargain of the season , a truely world class player .

However we need to concentrate on ourselves . I’m sure potter will tighten up defending at the back especially from corners and set pieces and look to vary our own corner routine .

No our squad is not going to finish in the top 10 this season but we have shown enough in the opening games to suggest a modest improvement on last season’s finishing position .

Relax , we will over the course of the season be fine .

That's an interesting stat re: his time at Swansea. And something that needs urgent addressing. The obvious solution is a specialised defensive coach.

Equally, I despair of the losers mentality you have. Always an excuse. We’d better **** off back down to the Championship then. No point ever expecting a point or win against 2 thirds of clubs. We’re little old Brighton. If we can finish 17th and play well, but importantly always lose, against the top 6 or 7 it’s to be expected. What’s that? Other teams manage to get results against? Pah! No they don’t, or if they do, there’s a reason. So Long as we beat Fulham 1 nil, maybe win a thriller 3-2 against West Brom and draw both 0-0 against Palace then hurray, it’s such a brilliant league to be in isn’t it? Year after year. Tearing up the PL eh?!!

Still, always the cup...oh...

So you want us to break the bank and buy players we can't afford, just for the glory of beating some of the top 6 a couple of times a season?

Palace have been run that way for years, 2 administrations and a third one in the post, if it goes wrong anytime soon.
For what? a Cup final and a few morale boosting wins against the big clubs!

Why is that more desirable to you than what the club are trying to build?

I have, you’ve just not been paying attention and were too quick to start shooting. Even listed the 6 top sides we’ve got zero points from 20 games against. Mines a cappuccino please.

Nope. Made point several times now. You’re just too angry, rose tinted or I don’t know what to understand. I’m out therefore. No point labouring, you clearly cannot see.

That defence was in complete disarray yesterday. We're shipping goals for fun and have kindly handed a blueprint to the rest of the division on how to beat us. Gonna be a long old season

Do you think our defenders are so bad that this patch will continue for 38 games? March apart, the rest of the backline have already proved they can defend in the Premier League, while March is in the form if his life.

I fancy Potter will get the shape right, while 8 goals for from a tough start shows we can score.
