Anyone got a list of longest serving managers in the 4 divisions? Gus must be right up there by now.
Off the top of my head, I think he's 9th. Taggart, Wenger and Moyes are at the top of the list

Thanks for that, fascinating. Cant believe Mancini comes in at 12th, it just shows that in general English clubs just dont understand the benefits of continuity and a settled system. Apart from Tony Bloom and a handful of other. Martinez will be off soon so Gus will probably be top10 this summer.

What decent proven manager would want to take over at Leicester with the run-in of games they've got? Unlike, say, trying to keeping Reading in the Prem I think the Leicester board would be half-expecting any new manager to get the Foxes into the play-offs, and so anyone new would be tainted by failure if this didn't happen.

The median in that range of 92 clubs is 9 months, so your average club manager in England will have been in charge for just 9 months. Unbelievable.
Funny old world is football, isn't it? Chairman / Managers criticise a player who wants to leave for more money when he has a contract for another few years etc, but a manager can be given a five year contract and sacked after a run of bad results, as Fergie nearly was!
Thanks for that list. It's a shock to see that Mickey Adams is in the top 20 longest serving, seems like he only took over recently.
There are six ex Brighton players and two ex Brighton managers among the 91 other managers. That seems like a high percentage to me

It shows how bizarre football is that someone appointed in January last year is the 34th longest serving manager
