Two Russian soldiers die and 28 are in hospital ‘after being fed poisoned pies’

The soldiers from Russia’s 3rd Motor Rifle Division died immediately after eating the delicacies served by residents in Izium near Kharkiv, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.

A further 28 Russian troops are in intensive care, with hundreds more suffering “severe illnesses” after drinking poisoned alcohol of “unknown origin”.

Just been reading some of the accounts of murders and rapes. It's f**king horrific what they've been doing.

IMHO if we really still can't get involved we should at least be arming Ukraine with every single bit of firepower available. Tanks, planes, long range missiles, everything. Let the Ukrainians wipe every last bit of filth off the planet. F**k putin if he doesn't like it.

The alcohol is genius.

It is an absolute certainty that Russian soldiers would loot alcohol. What a plan to lace it with something nasty in advance.

I hope as many die as possible.

Somebody should write a book about the ingenuity of the Ukrainians, and the crass stupidity of the Russians, so these stories can be passed down the generations.

Same thing happened with the former Yugoslavia I'm afraid. :( Some of the stories a mate has told me when he was stationed out their as part of the peace keeping force are harrowing and still haunt him to this day.

Russians state that Ukraine are staging the images of murdered civilians and atrocities.

They have apparently been giving humanitarian aid to civilians and Ukraine are trying to undermine peace talks whilst escalating violence.

NOTHING other than the removal/assassination/ sudden death of Putin is going to bring this murderous genocide to an end

The first statement won't hold up in court, and any convicted in their absence will still be hunted by nazi killers for the rest of their lives.

The first video of them giving "humanitarian" aid had to be removed as the goods had Ukrainian labels on them and weren't brands available in Russia - obviously looted from Ukraine

Putin will be the top of the tree facing charges at The Hague. Not that he'll turn up to defend himself but at least charges will be laid.

A new leader can order a withdrawal and spin it however needed to keep the brainwashed on side. Unbrainwashing will take a long time. I have hope that Russia can join the sensible world with a new Gorby type.

As for Putin woodchip the kunnt.

Sadly you are correct, only removal of Putin will end this now. He is safe and sound in his bunker and won't come out. He will continue to order more slaughter of Ukrainians and, by extension, his own troops. In his own mind he is playing a giant game of Risk and he won't back down.

Long thread, but interesting…..

Read this earlier, looks like the Russians were completely out thought and outfought on almost every level. Fantastic leadership shown by Zelensky, clever use of natural defences and small raiding groups and overall a heroic and brave national defence by the people of Ukraine..

Putin thought it would be simple but he has got all the big calls wrong, so much for KGB training !

Jeremy Bowen's reporting on the BBC over the past couple of days is quite horrific. Quite unimageable that this is happening in Europe.

Time to massively ramp up the sanctions - including stopping buying any Russian Gas / Oil immediately - why are we funding the Russian war machine?

If it means prices go up, so be it, small price to pay IMO.

Seems Macron thinks the same - but Germany against - shame on you Scholz.

Very interesting thread.

It seems that they used news reports to fool the Russians that the fuel was getting through.

Now this to me raises the question about Polish MIG fighters.

I read rumours that some had already been repainted in Ukrainian colours and used a few weeks ago. But this was at odds with the constant ongoing calls for the jets to be supplied. Is this another trick and they already have some of them ?

Back to the thread. It was a great summary, but it missed the deliberate flooding of land near Kyiv I think.

Going back to that 40 mile column of Russian vehicles.

I remember all the questions as to why it wasn't being destroyed. The suggestions that the Ukrainian airforce was finished.

It now makes sense. They were just fooling the Russians into not sending more fuel.

Playing into the Russian hubris in their "military superpower" mindset and the constant need for "good news" to be always passed up the chain of command.

The trouble is they won't fool them next time. Will they ?

Because of the actions of the Russians the whole country is united in its defence. The combination of using small mobile forces, local militia/defence groups and observation drones and attack drones means that Russian losses will be bad. Its just a matter of time until Putin gets replaced. I hope !

think he's overplaying "fooling", thing to note the fuel is in the convoy and gets stuck in the rear. certainly its hubris, Russia expecting little resistance expecting to make the ground in one day. military analysis read weeks ago suggested they simply put too much down one route, literally all on one road, unable to manoeuvre.
