The Special Delivery Service is RM flag ship, no office should drop below 100% success.
Occasionally 'shit happens', but that's not your problem and you will be compensated accordingly.

Think you are wrong with your advice. The receiver is not entitled to compensation, the sender of the item is.

Special Delivery for firms is a nightmare. We prepare tenders for building works and most have to be posted to arrive at 12 noon the next day. There used to be one rate to pay to guarantee that but then RM got in on the act to raise prices.

They moved the guaranteed time to 1pm and introduced a 9am ((for noon) which now costs over £18 for a letter to be delivered first class.

Problem is if a tender is received after 12 noon then it is rejected so that all the costs in preparing a quote go down the drain.

Why don't you cover yourselves for 'consequential' loss then? OK, another charge for sure but the facility is there.
