Managed to get a friend of a friend go round this morning and he's just called.

The work, he said, is sloppy and may not last as long as it should. He said in his opinion it would take 2 men 2 days to do a good professional job that would cost £900 tops - 4 days at £175 and £200 materials.

An awkward conversation lies ahead!

Another thing to bear in mind is when you get a purchaser they will instruct a survey to be done on the property (either individually or for mortgage valuation purposes) and this may be picked up and detailed in the report.
