My 16 year old Dog Oskar had to be out down today.

He has been a loyal companion and there for me and the time had come to release him.

It was a terribly difficult decision as he was part of my family.

I did my best by him and thank him for his love over the years.

Goodbye old mate.

 The worst thing about pets is that you know you will probably have to make that decision one day, sorry to hear this Unc.

Sorry to hear that, they bring so much joy in the short time they are with us, that losing one is very very hard.

RIP Oskar

My heart goes out to you Gareth, it really does. Even though I didn't know him, I consider him a friend.

Was this Oskar lad an Albion fan?

Uh oh.

Sorry to hear that GG.

My last pet to pass on was Smudge. She was a faithful moggy for 18 years. Oddly enough, when Man Utd won the Carling Cup that weekend, they revealed T-shirts saying "For You Smudge". I am not sure how they found out, but it was appreciated.

Is 16 years quite a good innings for a doggy?

I'm more of a cat man myself, and I think they last about 17 or 18.

If so, this is very sad bad luck.... but, as it's you, are you sure Oskar is really dead ?..... I'm confident that Oskar will make a full recovery.

It is always a hard decision to make, Unc. But you have done the right thing. The best possible way for an owner can do for his pet is to not let him/her suffer. As a hard a decision as it was to make, I am not sure Oskar was happy that you decided to put him out of any misery that he was suffering.

Chin up, mate.

RIP Oskar
