Ridiculously early predictions of the 2016/17 final table

It's interesting to see so many people reckoning that Newcastle will bounce straight back into the Premier League. They were so appallingly bad (as were Villa) last season that I think that they could fail quite alarmingly. I just wonder how long Benitez will get before the Cockney Mafia decide to interfere once again.

Brentford will be nearer the top than the bottom!
There's usually one team who surprisingly struggles, I think it'll be them

Brighton 101pts next season automatic promotion
Let's hope so :albion2:

No doubts we'll be up there for sure...
Maybe we'll go to Newcastle and win 3-1 on the last game :)
Don't want another trip up there on the last day of the season, let's end up with Burton or Barnsley at home as the last game

Way too early to make predictions.
Which is why this thread is called 'ridiculously early' because it's rather ridiculous but it's a boring night on a Bank Holiday

Where's the FAGDPts columns? Sheesh.
Damn, I'll add those soon along with the WDL columns :p

LOL.

How did you come to this conclusion without knowing who is signing who?

Sorry mate but way way too early to call.

My concern is that there are 6-8 clubs with bigger budgets than us.

I agree. I see no reason to think they're an obvious candidate for promotion.

They were rubbish last season despite spending a lot of money and Benitez will need to change their team quite radically to get them to function properly which suggests that it will take time (hopefully a long time) to get things right.

Benitez has no experience at this level either and I can't see Ashley and his mob showing much patience if things don't go right almost immediately.....

Personally I've every confidence that we can go straight up this time if we can keep the squad together and make a few improvements.

We virtually had to start from scratch last season given the abysmal legacy that Hyypia left CH and look what we achieved!

Be good if we can play the relegated sides early; I would take them all in August before they have settled squads.

Can't really see QPR doing much unless they are somehow let off all or most of the macro FFP fine. Cardiff have appointed a good manager who did well at Bristol Rovers but do they have deisre to spend a lot?

Baffled by everyone putting Preston so low. Play off contenders next year - settled squad and a good manager.

I think Newcastle will win the league because Benitez is staying and will persuade some of their better players to do the same for one season.

Other strong sides will be Norwich, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and of course BHAFC.

PNE finished high this year because of Adam Reach, and he's returned to Middlesbrough (though I expect he'll sign for PNE permanently), plus their best goalkeepers always seem to be loanees (Pickford and then Lindegaard)

I would take playoffs again next season.

The law of averages means we are bound to win 1 game eventually.
We need to win at least 2 to get through to promotion though.

I really hope we can repeat what happened in 1978-79 after just missing out the season before.

My negative side fears we won't be able to repeat the performance levels of last season. Hope I am wrong.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree with this one, Can't see past the Toon, Villa or derby for automatic and I think we'll have a quieter season, dunno why, just do.
