Ddi anyone else think it refreshing that Ricky Ponting spend the majority of his time at the crease on Sunday not wearing a helmet?
I noticed that as Giles and Collingwood was bowling he kept his "lid" off and was batting in an Aussie cap and even when Goughie was on, he kept the cap on.
Although Goughie was innocuous, he is still pretty swift.
I have never worn a protective helmet in all the years I have played cricket,(35 years) even in the Sussex League against such bowlers as Kirtley etc, I always took the view of Viv Richards...if you watch the ball , you should know how to duck or hit it!
I thought it as great!
