errr, we have barnes, vicente, buckley, and ulloa....and only play one up anyway really....so whats the big deal.

cms is pony anyway.....might be a blessing.

If we are only playing 1 up front, he has to be a specialist.

That leaves us with Ulloa and Barnes. No one else.

If playing 1 up front, you always need another striker at least on the bench.

11 more matches ( + maybe 3 more ).

Which means we are relying on no further injuries. No suspensions. No sendings off.

I'd say we need to bring in 2 loan strikers, but that's not going to happen, so 1 it will have to be.

I have seen this on a few threads now. Can someone please tell me where Gus is talking about a loan striker.

I think he has been wrapped in a roll of carpet and put in the boot of the bus because I have seen or heard nothing from him.

Please enlighten.

Why? Why? What in GODS NAME has Agdestein done to make people think he's a professional footballer, let alone a player for a team who want promotion to the Premier League? A few goals against some kids at Lancing in the Sussex Senior bloody Cup are slightly different to away trips to Bolton and Nottingham Forest, not to mention Palace at home!

Very hard to argue with that. Gus sees Toby every day, and if he was knocking on the door of the 1st team then he would have featured on the bench - certainly since Hoskins was injured. Toby isn't the answer, you might as well suggest playing the DS keeper if Kuszczak gets injured.

Indeed. We are now ( or should be ) the highly professional club with targetted momentum to reach the premier league. It's not the withdean approach were we can't afford players and so play the rookies.

It's a shame Jason Roberts is currently injured.

Possible other loan signings:

Simeon Jackson - Norwich
Mcmanaman or Henriquez - Wigan
Rosenberg - WBA
Petric - Fulham

Simeon Jackson isn't getting much game time. He's done it at this level not too long ago when Norwich went up.

When does the loan window close?

Can we not push Buckley up as a third striker (along with Barnes and Ulloa (not in the same game) as we have winger/midfield cover in Lua Lua, Vicente, Orlandi.

We also have Barker for the bench, who from seeing at Culver Road, may be able to job a job if we got in the poo.

It's far from ideal, but surely most of the good possible loanees have been snapped up.

And for those who keep saying Adgestine. He is crap - which is why we have Barker travelling with the squad and getting a seat on the bench, and not Toby.

Toby is rather similar to that bloke called Chris something we signed from Cambridge a couple of years ago - IMO.

Barnes will be well by Saturday. You remember him. Most goals in the last 3 seasons.

Barnes will no doubt play on Saturday at the Reebok but i don't think there is anything wrong with strengthing the striking department with a loan signing, especially with both CMS and Hoskins out for the rest of the season. We've got some tough games coming up. At least if someone comes in now they can get used to our style of play and should be available until the end of May. If we were to lose Ulloa through injury now we'll be royally f**ked.

Henriquez is on loan at Wigan from Man United I think!

None of your buisness
I always knew we'd one day regret selling Nathan Elder.
