ooh its a keyboard warrior

You're right Coventry Gull. I'll wind my neck back in. I promised myself not to get involved in these arguments anyway so I think I'll stick to bull shit about the Albion.

Fergus, Bluenose - if you're reading this - dont bother replying. I respect the 'Loyal' view as much as I respect the republican one. And for the record I dont think all Rangers or Celtic fans are thick.

Eagle eyed view of you...
For the sake of some broader colour on the scottish football supporting fraternity, some of Celtic's pizza box waving, BOTOB singing fans are no better are they?

The fallout of last years Rememberance Day tribute tells you all that we need to know about their support. The day when Celtic can hold a minutes silence (as oppose to applause) in respect of the British war dead will be they day we can say that ALL Celtic fans are NOT thick.

I won't hold my breath though.

If Celtic fans should have to respect the British war dead on the 11th November, the Rangers should have to respect Irish war dead on Easter Sunday.

yep, basically just a couple of twats being twats
Indeed. You don't have to have conducted a deep scientific and sociological analysis of football supporters and behavioural trends among crowds in popular sports to have come up with the following important nugget of information: Every professional club will have some individual fans who are complete twats. (Yes, even Brighton as is evident by some of the posts on NSC). And obviously the bigger the fanbase the more twats you'll find. I do wonder sometimes why we get so worked up every time this sad fact of life is proved true.

The problem comes if you extrapolate these findings and say: "Some Rangers fans are twats therefore all Rangers fans are twats." That's always good for a binfest.

Many Celtic supporters died in two world wars (and others) hence the thought that many may wish to pay their respects in a dignified manner - the republican element has hijacked this hence the need for a minutes applause to drown out this large unsavoury minority (giving them the benefit of the doubt!).

The idea that anyone in the UK should have to pay their 'respects' to anyone who fought against the Crown is, of course, absolute bollocks!!

'Should' have to, agreed is absolute bollocks.

Chooses to show respect against an army of occupation, their choice.
