It's not that and you know it - so you didn't think the phrasing of the thread title wouldn't attract more blatant racist stuff from some mongs, as it has done? My main beef is far less with your stuff and more with the fact that that's still there.

So, out of interest, what exactly are you trying to establish by attempting to demonstrate that, sometimes, white people some get grief or abuse too?

Because, shock horror, some people might start to think that stuff like that was being used to justify and/or legitimise racist behaviour towards ethnic minorities on that basis - weird isn't it?
"Well, they do it to us, don't they?" - it's an argument that one hears a lot - two wrongs making a right in some simpletons' heads. That may well be a wrong assessment but that is exactly how it comes across.

You're clearly a nice bloke, IMHO, but perhaps with some dodgy views. Which happens.

Normally I think MoH is a bit of a cock, but on this occasion he's spot on.

To be perfectly honest, no I didn't. I didn't really think about it. The jokes I posted were sent to me by my (Maori) mate in New Zealand, and I thought I'd put them on here to see what sort of reaction it would get.

Maybe my problem is I don't look at things as seriously as some. Perhaps I'm too laid back, but nothing offends me.

Ditto.

Out of interest, which of the jokes I posted do you find offensive?

So are you saying you aren't offended by the racist jokes against white people, but you are offended by the ones against black people?

???

That was the point I was trying to make.

And why is it OK to call someone a 'mong' ie someone who has Downs Syndrome, but it's not OK to change Adrie's name to ADHDinho?

Come off it Commander - you've been around the block enough times to know the reaction to that type of thread on here. Blimey o Reilly.

I was interested to see whether people would be offended by jokes against whites or not. That was why I put it up. And it appears that most people were not, which is surely hypocrisy?

I wonder if we had a greater cultural mix in our fan base and on NSC whether threads like this would be posted ?

I wonder if they get threads like this on Arsenal forums for example.

I did think that Life on Mars was fiction - but I am beginning to wonder about that as well.

That's a good point. Have we got any Black/Non-white posters?

When it comes to fans at matches we are a very "white" club

I have noticed a definite increase in non-white fans coming to the Albion in the last few years. Anyone else noticed this?

Still doesn't reflect anything like the diversity of the city though.

Not at Brighton but I go to about 6 or 7 Premiership matches a year (with Newcastle) and I've noticed a definite increase in the number of non-white people at those games. Even at places like Chelsea I'd say about 1% of the crowd was non-white. It doesn't reflect the ethnic make-up of West London of course but when you think that not so long ago seemingly all Chelsea fans were white supremacist thugs it IS progress.

Precisely. Its like people who vent anger at muslims because (allegedly) some white bureaucrat in a local council has banned the displaying of St George's crosses. It makes no sense but it gives people an excuse to bark their "If they don't like it they can f*ck off home" bullshit rhetoric.

Actually, thats not really in any way related to the point you made, but I wanted to make it anyway.

Must just be me then, but I definitely think there has been an increase.

What about Arsenal? That seems to be the club to support for black Londoners, I wonder what the make up of the crowd is like there. Anyone been recently?

No idea, but I remeber they painted some black faces on the mural behind one of the goals when they were doing works at Highbury. :jester:

Eventually, yeah. Didn't they have to re-do it because the first model had only white males?
