I wonder if there is any truth in the claim by the Telegraph panellist that in the Bank of England's history since 1600 our national debt has gone from £0- 800 billion. And that during George Osbornes 5yr austerity term it will rise to £1600 billion.
If true (I've heard this before despite lack of straightforward data from ANYONE) then it means we can kiss goodbye to the NHS, for starters.

This really doesn't surprise me. When Osborne announced his austerity package, Noam Chomsky the American sage, economist and all round know it all warned that this economic policy was historically doomed to failure.

Not sure. But what I do know for certain is that Classics teacher was a legend, particularly when that Telegraph bloke tried to teach her a lesson in history and failed.
