Its early days, but the contributors have already posted a good few informative / interesting pieces. Please take a few minutes to have a look. You may be surprised with the quality of some of the writing.

But what of these selection issues? It is generally accepted that it’s a positive for a manager to have plenty of good players vying for spaces in his side, and clearly fans would rather that Craig Mackail-Smith, Will Hoskins and Ashley Barnes were competing for positions on the team-sheet than were Jake Robinson, Joe Gatting and Nathan Elder...
'Faded Glories'
To my 13 year old eyes, Frank Worthington appeared to stroll casually around the Goldstone pitch, showing the occasional flash of brilliance, but contributing little of note.
My recollection is of a succession of ‘clever’ flicks, into spaces noticeably absent of fellow Albion players. Those who knew better, explained to me that this was because Frank was “too good” or “two steps ahead of the rest”, although truth be told, it did seem to my nascent football brain, that kicking the ball to nobody, wasn’t really very ‘good’ at all. The Albion have had plenty of players since, who have done much the same, without the same generous suggestion ever being afforded them...
'Charge of the Slade brigade'
The sight of Slade patrolling the touchline, home and away, like an army sergeant, barking orders at the players, instilled a confidence amongst players and fans alike that carried the team over the line in the race to survive. He seemed to represent the very definition of the phrase ‘bitter determination’...
