Why bother changing it?

The old badge is a classic and part of their recent history, the new effort looks like it's been taken from Pro Evolution Soccer.

I retired from advertising a few years ago (having helped one or two decent companies rework their brand identities). My first reaction to this is that it will be hard to reproduce when it's small and the drop shadow will complicate the logo when reduced. You won't be able to read "Queens Park Rangers" at all. Unnecessary floweryness.

Shame really because the old logo delivered heritage and stuck the brand "QPR" big and bold in the middle. Old logo not dated - poor move but typical of a new broom.

Agreed.

It will come out fine on web-based stuff, and even letterheads, but emobroidery? No.

I do like the iconic blue and white horizontal stripes, and the words written within them, and the bottom banner, but the rest of it - including the football, which is a bit naff - is superfluous chocolate.

Yes, thats why we are known as the Seagulls, it is pluralised to encompass all breeds, makes and hue of seagull. For your pedantic observation to be of any merit whatsoever we would need to monikered "The Seagull" which sounds more like a Pub or a Boat than a Soccer Team.

That is the first time I have been called pedantic on here, I have been trying to get someone to say that for ages. Thank you!

Although not really true is it, the other way around to be honest, they could be 2 divisions above us again next season.

Only a matter of time, reckon about three years max, now the sharks have moved in, before 'Loftus Road' becomes 'The Old Loftus Road Buy-To-Let Apartments For Stylish City Living. Perfect for entertaining, would suit young professional couple'. May be best to redesign the bottom bit of the crest now aye?

Both the old and new QPR badges are MILES better than ours. Come to that 1066gull's design is MILES better than ours and that's saying something.

The old one was MUCH better. Look.

I mean what was wrong with that ? Its all lovely and swirley and everything.

If you look on the website here, the new logo looks shiny and nice and shiny and heraldic and shiny and some people have made very favourable comments about it. But if you then go to the "Club" tab and select "Club Shop" and follow the link on the right hand side to see the new merchandise, have a look at the t-shirt, enlarge the image and ... oh dear ... oh dear oh dear oh dear.

I'm with Easy on this, I prefer the old one, simple, straightforward ... with swirley bits.

Like it. Like the old one too. Like their smart blue and white hoops. Liked the astroturf. Like West London generally.

But I love Brighton
