QPR chase Hatters hitman

Luton striker Tony Thorpe is poised to join Queens Park Rangers.
QPR chief executive David Davies is thrashing out a fee for the forward with the Hatters administrators.

And the Rangers website reports that Thorpe went to Loftus Road to talk over personal terms on Thursday.

The 29-year-old former Bristol City and Fulham player is in his second spell at Kenilworth Road.

And he began the season in style, netting a brace in the 3-1 win over Rushden & Diamonds to take his career tally to 151 goals.

Davies told the R's official website: "Tony Thorpe is a player with a tremendous goal record and we have no doubt he would be a valuable addition to our squad."

Should we try and sign this bloke just to piss them off even more!

well everyone else does it,

It would make it easier for us to win the championship if they end up getting the 3rd or 4th player on their wanted list.

I didn't even know that QPR were looking for a striker until they tried to sign Leon Knight from us!

QPR are a great team already, but seeing them on Monday, they have a lot of strong, tall, huge players, and have gone for strength over skill. They use a lot of longball whereas we, under SC, are trying a more passing game.

Having not seen this striker, I'm not sure what he's like. Is he small and skillfull (like Leon Knight) or tall and strong?

Personally, I feel we still need another striker. Preferably tall! Is he the right guy? The problem is money - we need to get someone on loan or rely on our youth team.
