So people have you been doing your bit? A bit of a mixed bag on the saving front, some worthy saving work in amongst visiting some establishments due to them being convenient and others being there.

So Thursday started with a rare mission of mercy to the Shakespears Head, followed by the Druids Head in the lanes, then saving of the Freebutt.

Friday was not a good effort, some of the places on the rota included the new and ponced up Smugglers, Old Orleans (which should be shut), the Willian the Fourth which deserves our help and the Font (which is open late).

Saturday's saving started earlier in the Cricketers in Hove, followed by the bar in the pavilion, then on to the Font, then the Beach (had to get in early to see the Futurheads), then on to the Basketmakers which is a firm favourite and deserves Pubs in Crisis support.

Sunday's saving started with lunch and Magners in the Lion and Lobster, followed by a rare visit to the Station in Hove and then on to the marvelous Duke of Wellington in Shoreham, which all savers should visit.

Today the Lansdowne in Lewes got some lunchtime saving? Are you giving up a few years of your life to save some of our institutions?

The John Harvey Tavern underwent extensive saving every day last week. The Gardeners and The Snowdrop were also saved, along with The Heath, The Burrell, The Stand Up and Bar Nun.

Very poor effort from me I'm afraid. All I saved was the 'Horizon' bar on the 'Pride of Dover' car ferry. And it did NOT warrant it.

Do they still sell Artois Bock in there ? A rare delight.

I saved the Swiss Cottage on Thursday (had a meal there as well, being as the staff were looking underpaid). Since then I have mainly been saving the Kings Head, with several visits during the course of the weekend.

I saved the Robin Hood fairly substantially on Friday night, drinking Harveys and some surprisingly awful red wine which gave me a stinking hangover.

Thursday saw a salvage job on The Western Front, Couch (and boy does that place need saving) and the Tin Drum.

Saturday was time well spent helping out the Pav Tav and The Fiddlers Elbow.

The Smugglers is awful pub now lost all its character which is a shame but on the other hand the "Welly" in Shoreham which was once a complete dive is now a 'real jem'.

As for the Centre of Chichester i have yet to come across a half decent pub that serves real ale/good food but the Four Chestnuts would come close it if didnt have so many people in wheelchairs taking up half the pub! :drink: :drink: :drink:

Poor effort from me - Saturday I only saved the Font and the Walkabout, and Sunday I saved the Sussex, the King and Queen and the Pav Tav.

In London village.
Pleased to have done my bit by saving Mabels (with a little help from Johnny Vegas) and a few others around Euston and Kings Cross on Friday night.

Not buying a drink and putting a pound in the quiz machine does not save a pub :jester:

A very poor effort by me recently I'm afraid in Exeter, due to revision and impending exams I have only managed to save the Ram (one of the union bars) on Thursday, and the Lemmy (the other one) on Friday.

A contingent of NSCers downed a good few pints in the Crown in Seaford the other Saturday. I think it sold enough beer to keep it going for a while. :drink:
