Uncle Buck, you we be pleased to know that myself and my cohorts do not limit our saving efforts to the football season. I was interested to read that you had been to the cricketers in hove on saturday as I considered taking a trip there myself, but didnt bother as sussex were at home and I thought it would be packed. As I think I told you, an old mate of mine was manager there and its been a while since Ive seen him, not sure if hes there now though.

Pubs that have been saved by myself during the course of the last 7 days incule the buch of grapes, the coopers arms (as ever), the old kings head, and worringly the cross (where coopers right arm disgraced himself on saturday evening). Other members of the JBRA have been even more active and no doubt one particular grinning, giggling bufoon will have been travelling about in the tufty mobile giving life saving treatment to numerous public houses, lay bys and park benches.

Keep up the good work.

I've been taking Pubs in Crisis on the road the last few days and have established significant saving missions in Eastbourne. The Marine, The Lamb and The Wheatsheaf in Willingdon have all been given a thorough fillip

tonight I may well be returning to The Conqueror to insure that things are running smoothly

keep up the good work

Not been out much lately, UB, but did manage to do a little saving of the Sir Charles Napier and the Greys at the weekend, and last week saved Sidewinder (listen, if the Pav Tav counts as a pub then so does Sidewinder, surely) to the extent that I may not have the face to go back for a while. There's nothing more undignified than an incoherent, dribbling, unkempt old saver lurching around like a stunned bear and clutching a bottle of Weston's Organic, frightening all the 30-somethings who've popped in for an early-afternoon spritzer in a "real pub" atmosphere but without the inconveniences (like real people) and a chat about moisturisers...

I did wonder what the oldest ASBO in town had been up to?

Any saving recommendations for Tubridge Wells in a weeks time?

Not 100% sure about the OAP ASBO, but may catch up with him this weekend as the Wheatsheaf has a 'cry for help' beer festival on, so I expect us to both rush to its assistance.

As for Tunbridge Wells, I expect a number of JBRA personnel to land in The Bedford opposite the station, as this is a short walk to the pitch thing, is a former regular haunt of mine when employed in the village and is no run by Hambramovichs brother in law.

Well the Worthing Elder ASBO has been saving a number of places.

The Laird's family run a pub?
