Boddingtons is my favourite, you are privilledged to live in a land where it is available so freely and so cheaply.

Hurrah! I thread to whet the whistle. I'm partial to a drop of Summer Lightning being a fan of light & hoppy ales. I like TT Landlord as a darker ale. :drink:

From the poll, I'd have the London Pride but am partial to a pint of Abbott also.

Caledonians Deuchars IPA is very nice, and in winter Harvey's Old.

Hopback is my fave brewery of recent years, the light hoppy ales go down well all year round, although I have in past consumed government health minister worrying quantities of most of them

aside Abbott, Theakstons old peculiar, Fremlins, and Ruddles where previous faves.

there was (may still be) a pub in the old High Street, Hastings that brewed its own ale, late 80's early 90's, most agreeable, cant remember what it was called though

Don't generally drink the stuff, but have been known to become somewhat innebriated courtesy of the very aptly named Theakstons Old Peculiar
(makes me feel old and peculiar)

Falmer, soon...
I've developed a bit of a taste for Abbot. Nice drop. I tend to drink whatever's local, and hence is pulled through the most. However on an even basis, it's probably between these. . .

Pitchfork is a great hoppy ale but hard to come by. Summer Zat down in the South West is good and Dark Star do a good one too who's name escapes me. The Red Lion in Shoreham often have a good lighter guest ale on which goes well with their famous Welsh Rarebit. Ooh, me knees are tingling just thinking about it. :)

Aaaah, what I'd give right now for a pint of proper ale... :drink: Nearest I can manage in my present city of residence is a pint of Boddingtons for a cool £4.50...

I still dream about the local beers I had on offer up in Chester. Those were the days - £1.30 for a glass of gorgeous real ale...

Out of that lot, I'd probably go for pint of Directors right now. :)

we had that news through at work, we do a lot of work at breweries. The Coors Brewery in Burton produces more shit beer and alcopops than any one man could remove with the largest lorry in the country 24 hours a day

those names ring a bell Phaedrus, probably from the beer festival at Easter . . .my mouth is watering, I must get down the Toad for a summer lighning by 8 tonight or I'm liable to malfunction :p

Harveys is my favourite of that lot, although London Pride is also very nice. Wadsworth's 6X is an excellent pint too - they had it in the Sportsman for a while but not the last time i was in there:(

Definitely Robinsons when in Manchester.

All you Boddy fans ... have you heard that they're CLOSING the Strangeways Brewery?

Where, WHERE. It's brewed in bloody STOCKPORT which as you all know is NOWHERE near manchester :D

The strangeways brewery been a bit shite for years now as well, nothing like the stuff I was weaned on.
