My brother has the habit of giving their equivalent here as presents so I've got a few hundred, won €50 once but nothing more. Wouldn't even remember I have them if I wasn't reminded (like this thread) so the €50 was a nice random thing to appear!

As a family of four we have around £15K between us and total winnings as follows:

2007 £700
2008 £300
2009 £150
2010 £200 so far

Returns are a lot lower since the £25 prize was introduced

My brother has about £500 worth and they have never won him anything in 23 years. I believe they avoid inflation so are not the best long term investment either as actually reduce in 'real value'. If you play the lottery / chav tax maybe they would suit. I however had my £500 put in a bank account then ISA and had about 2 grand to use toward my deposit after 23 years. Don't remember topping it up ever but maybe I did as seems rather alot even with cumulative interest.

I was just checking the September draw to see what I'd won (nothing, as usual), and saw someone from Stockport just won £100,000 from only £280 worth of bonds.

That's the kind of return I wouldn't mind...
