I’ve just done a like for like comparison to last season after 28 games. It goes like this :

2023/24 P28 W11 D9 L8 GD6 Pts 42

2022/23 P28 W13 D7 L8 GD16 Pts 46

So for all those naysayers not a huge difference despite the fact that we’ve had a significant number of injuries, more than last season. We’ve also played 8 more games (Europa League) and all the matches have taken place in a shorter time frame. Our 28th league fixture for 2022/23 (Spurs away) took place on the 8th of April. Food for thought.

We've actually only played 5 games more this season when you take into account FA and League cups. Also it's a bit difficult to compare the time frame games have been played over, because we stopped for nearly 6 weeks for the world cup. So if anything when the season was actually "active" we'd probably played those games last season in a more condensed time frame.

4 points fewer, but I'd guess we've also played against lower placed teams. Our run-in is horrendous.

Forest, CP, Everton and Brentford have all for long spells stunk out the PL this season.

Such a shame that Luton just don’t do defence (except against us). Making each game a mountain to climb to get 3 points.

Whenever I mention the added EL games/lack of rest and PL prep from it, there’s someone on nsc who boasts that they’re uber positive (can’t recall the username), who claims the EL demands had zero adverse effect on our PL prospects.

According to R5L earlier Forest have already accepted the PSR charge, it’s whether they appeal the punishment, they have 7 days to appeal it and the appeal must be finished by 9th April. The R5L panel believe it will be a 6 point deduction as that now has legal precedent. They expect Everton to get another 6 points too.

Monday, according to the Athletic.

Naturally that absolute state who owns their club will appeal, probably by getting Clattenburg to write yet another letter. I suspect Luton have shot their bolt already, and even if Forest slip below them as a result of a a 5-6 point deduction, they will still find a way to go down.
