Thinking any pay-off is going to be in the region of £2 Mill. No other club is going to pay the compensation clause either of about £2 Mill.

A compensation clause would be negotiable if it was amenable to both clubs.

If the club want him gone, they need to grow some balls and sack him. Pay him off and start again. All this needs resolving and we need to move on.

I agree with this totally BUT I still don't understand the two tier thinking with sackings in this country. If I do something that earns me the sack I don't get a bean from my employers, as a football manager, embezzling banker or any other profession that earns a wage where losing my job doesn't actually turn my world upside down I seem to be entitled to compensation - how or why I still don't get.

The only thing I'd say with that, as we saw with Wigan. They got compensation from Everton for Martinez, but Mr. Whealen was very reluctant to pay compensation to any other club to secure the services of their manager. Hence he went for Coyle, so no need to pay compensation? My own personal thinking was that Gus would have gone there, but for the thorny issue of a compensation payment to us??

The big shame in all this is a couple of months ago, we were all 'just' Albion fans, we still are of course but we weren't pro/anti Gus, or pro/anti Bloom.
We were all pulling in the same direction & looking forward to the play offs
We were laughing at palarse fans who were falling out with their board.
Whatever the outcome from this, whether Gus stays or goes, there will be a taste in most of our mouths, a cut which will take time to heal.
This hasn't played out well.
IMO Gus is as good a manger as we're going to get at this time in our development & Brighton & Hove Albion FC is as good a club as Gus is going to get at this stage of his career.
Its a shame no one pointed that out to him, not his family, friends or his agent, before it got to the stage that it has.

Gus stays or goes? Bloom pays him off or sells him?
Either way, neither of them are winners in this.

I'm simply still a fan of the club. I believe that Poyet has burned his bridges irreparably. I trust Tony Bloom and believe he has the best interests of the club in every move. BUT that said I remain to be convinced by a single thing Paul Barber's done since his arrival.

I don't doubt TB's commitment to the club for one second nor that he believes he is doing what's best. But that by itself doesn't mean he can't make mistakes.

If Gus really had breached his contract - this would have ended some time ago.

The club has clearly let professional procedures surrounding Gus' SUSPECTED breach of contract let get in the way of common sense, in the process destroying the fantastic chairman/manager relationship between TB and the best manager in the history of the club. It should have only been a meeting behind closed doors and none of this should have happened.

Gus is totally within his rights to reject a resignation if he has been treated unfairly.

Whoever is responsible for suspending the management team needs to be SACKED. Is it too late for TB to make peace with Gus and the management team?

Equally, and perhaps more likely, it is an offer of a discount on what he needs to pay to buy out his contract.
