Brighton / Hove actually
He's got sheets of paper there!

Wonder what the rest say?

Maybe he's got a Bob Dylan thing going on...

Poyet in the dressing room
Mixing up the medicine
Bridcutt on the pavement
Thinking about the pay cheque
Oatwy in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Buckley’s got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out Poyet
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doing it again
You better duck down the alleyway
Lookin' for a new friend
The man in the coonskin cap
In the big pen
Wants eleven pounds
But you only got a tanno

Poyet Out Poyet Out Poyet Out Poyet Out

He's just said 'I was doing very well at Brighton and was sacked anyway'. A lot of non Brighton fans think we were wrong to sack him and given he was going to leave anyway …. it does seem a strange decision indeed. Someone explain the true story without treating us like kids and get things on the pitch sorted and I/we might shut up about him

Football is an entertainment soap. If it's interesting it will get talked about.

Top effort that man

(mind you, "The pumps don't work cos the vandals took the handles" could genuinely apply to Sunderland itself

Watching the game on Sky.

Loved watching N'Zogbia glide past Bridcutt to set up the goal - maybe he wasn't focussed
How restrained was Oatway when that fan was shouting in their faces, he didn't even say anything !

I never gloat when someone loses their job, but for our ex Fuhrer Gustavo, I'm prepared to make an exception. Having said that, perhaps Bridcutt's goals from midfield might save him.

It's the end game now for Poyet, surely sacked in the next 48 hours.

He just can't break through his ceiling.

Everytime we gave him stick he threatened to quit and play golf. Last night he said fans were right to give him stick as he would do the same.. He was a bully here and he has tried to do the same there. But it doesn't wash with them, so like all bullies he is backing down. Man's a prick, always has been just more are starting to see it now.

Poyet must bitterly regret practically begging for the Sunderland job eighteen months ago. We derail, if not totally wreck, the careers of more managers than practically any other club.Having said which, it would seem Gus has been shown to be not really that good.
The biggest disaster for us was Paolo Di Canio being sacked after a mere dozen matches. The players knew after that, without a shadow of a doubt, that they ruled the roost and any manager attempting to disturb their cosy little world could be got rid of. Poyet is just the latest mug to sit in the manager's chair until the lazy, pampered unprofessional bunch put in a performance that would see him off.

Poyet is well overrated as the key factors in doing well here were...
Nice budget and backed by the chairman
New stadium
Massive feel good factor around the club
He was backed by the chairman and frankly under achieved with the players we had and completely bottled the playoffs.
His football 85% of the time is turgid boring negative football and he has no plan B what's so ever. The football on occasions was fabulous although we never won many of those.
He's loved by the gulliable lot on here because they see poyet as the one that gave us great times and they totally ignore my list above as the main factor's in the club's progression.
Poyet is very limited and more importantly he's a complete utter wan*ker that did nothing but disrespect our club...Can't stand the bloke and want him nowhere near this club.

Overall, managers of a football club should be judged on what position that they inherited the club from and the position that they then left the club in and not any of the rubbish that you have just spouted about
He is not going to be everybody's cup of tea but don't deny the progression he gave to our club
His reign at Sunderland is still open for debate

More factors come into play in our case due to bloom taking over and a new stadium being built...Healthy league 1 budget. The club was only ever going to go one way at the time lets be honest.

It's not rubbish and many factors come into the progression of a football club and not just a manager.
Winning league one was superb although we should never have finished 10th the following season in the championship as we was dogshite and 18th would've been about right...fluked many 1-0's that season.

I just find it quite sad all this abuse at Poyet. Some could argue the club did a hatchet job on him and a lot of people have brought the spin. I also think it is reprehensible the fact a few Sunderland fans tried to beat him up. It is all completely over the top. He is a football manager not a murderer
