I will just add my recollections of seeing Edwin Starr twice in the late 70's in Preston.

The first time : absolutely brilliant .With a bunch of local musicians ( and I got a copy of " I spy for the FBI " from the record stalls )

The second time . very poor . Just singing poorly to backing tapes .

However . his surname was apposite .

Top Luther Ingram track.

I saw Edwin Starr, just the once. Singing (beautifully) to backing track at the Event in about 1991. Great talent, much missed.

Fantastic stuff. Pisses all over my silver disc Sugarcubes album, my Sigue Sigue Sputnik limited edition Love Missile F1-11 disc with pctures and storyboard. Even my box set Japanese hip hop set with the very rare "return to the original art form".

I'm very jealous.
