Because there are less teams in the premiership, hence 10 points in the FL
Imagine if Portsmouth stay up by one point in the championship against another team who have been deducted 10.
Eh?
The 9 point deduction is for this year. Doesn't affect the championship at all
If Portsmouth get relegated and the nine point deduction wouldn't have made any difference I presume it gets rolled over to the next season as it does in the football league.
They will start the Championship on -9 points. However, if another Championship teams goes into admininstration next season they will have a 10point deduction.

( I was asking on here the other day if the "roll over" happens in the Premiership, does anyone now ? )

Shame because they really looked like staying up too. Must be a terrible shock to them to be contemplating playing in the Championship.![]()
Think that's only the case if you go into admin over the cut off date which is in March sometime.
