Question: Do the supporters group who raise the £250k get a stake in the club for that money? I whouldn't like to think my money is going straight to the same people who have mismanaged your club into that much debt. If you're getting some, if not all, control then I'll donate. Mabye a good use of some NSC funds? I thought R&D had decent support when we played them in the cup

Sadly this type of appeal is becoming more common and will only become more so over time. Such a shame for fans to have to keep going through this - whatever the circumstances. Happy to donate, but can you tell us where the pixel money goes to and how much of it goes tot he fund please. Not clear on the site who is behind this.

All the money goes straight to the Rushden & Diamonds Supporters Trust. A pixel costs £5. If we don't manage to raise enough money to save the club, the money will go towards setting up a phoenix club. Thanks

What happened to the money the man with Dr Marten boots put into the club. Has he left?

Just read that Max Griggs left in 2003 and at the time was willing to let the right man take over for nothing. It appears it wasnt the right man that took over or did the club change hands again since then.

Keith Cousins took over from Max Griggs in 2005. We've been running virtually break even every year under KC, until he resigned at the start of 2011. We were then taken over by Gary Calder, who was also involved in Weymouths demise, and since he took over in January, and quit in March, we astonishingly racked up debts of 500k. Steve & Liam Beasant then came in as new owners, but debts spiralled to 750k, and now they've remained quiet for the past few weeks, leading us to believe they've quit as well. So we're in dire straits.

shouldnt pay their players silly money.
People might laugh at Eastbourne Borough's philosophy of not spending money they haven't got but at least they dont go into debt to buy expensive players with money they ought to be paying their tax bill off with and then plead poverty when the taxman catches up with them.
The thread heading should be , WE DIDNT PAY OUR TAXBILL AND ARE IN THE DOODOO CAN YOU GIVE US SOME MONEY

So punish the fans for having wankers running the club?

I think you might find that there were a couple of occasions during last season where they didn't pay the players at all, round the Conference there were many who thought that they might do a Chester and fold before the season ended, looks like it was a close run thing. R&D are definitely up to their necks in the brown stuff, worrying times for all associated with the club.

If I were a fan of RDFC I'd be inclined to let it die and start a phoenix club (one of the options the OP mentioned in post #5). Some of you may not be aware that Halifax Town went bust a few years ago. They were in Administration, finished bottom of the Conference, couldn't pass the CVA and were wound up and died. Of course they didn't REALLY die, the fans promptly formed a new club, FC Halifax Town (still playing at The Shay) and were accepted into NPL Div 1 North (which was actually only 3 divisions below where they were when they went bust).

Now completely debt free and still with, by non-league standards, a large fan base they quickly stormed up the leagues and last season they absolutely PISSED the NPL Premier Division (the division that FCUM are in) winning it by about 20 points. They're now back in Conference North, which is the division they would have been had the original club struggled on. There has actually been a little bit of harrumphing from some supporters of the teams left trailing in their wake in the NPL Premier (FCUM, Colwyn Bay and Bradford Park Avenue) that Halifax have 'cheated' and that clubs that go bust shouldn't be allowed to reform! Unsurprisingly the Halifax fans are loving it though, and the moral is that the death of a club isn't the end of a club.
