Very difficult to rate tonight. For example, CMS was a 5 at best first half, but a 9 second. I thought Bridcutt had an awful game by his high standards but still had his moments. I also don't really understand the decisions that Gus made. The substitutions were too attcking and too late. I do wonder if that was, in part down to the ref who went through a crazy spell of booking players every time there was a tackle.

Must have been watching a different game to the rest of us! Bridcutt was, as he always is, one of our better performers. To say he was awful is possibly the most stupid comment I've read on here for a while!

Angkergen 6 - solid enough, pulled off a couple of decent stops and catches, though his distribution wasn't as good as usual, most notably with the late leveller
Painter 6 - improved as the game went on and won a good few challenges in the second half
Calderon 7 - was one of the key reasons behind our storming start to the second half, looked exhausted though
Greer 3 - worst game he's played for us this season, his mistake led to the second Leeds goal and for some reason could not clear the ball properly for love nor money
Dunk 9 (MOM) - won most of the balls and was the only defender who turned up in the first half. You'd never guess he's only 19, so composed on the ball and has great awareness
Bridcutt 8 - phenomenal in the second half with countless interceptions and getting the ball rolling with most of the attacks
Dicker 6 - had his moments, though looked shattered all game even though he didn't feature midweek
Lua Lua 7 - got outmuscled too easily in the first half, though gave the Leeds full-back (Aiden White, was it?) the runaround in the second half
Noone 7 - one of the better players in the first half, though it was frustrating to see none of his mazy runs come off, more often than not through taking one touch too many
Barnes 8 - his hold-up play was excellent last night, so often introducing other players into attacks. Did feel he was playing a bit too deep in the first half though. Unsung hero of the side, contributes much more than many fans give him credit for
Mackail-Smith 8 - non-existent in the first half, immense in the second. Rans his socks off and his movement was superb for both goals and the run that led to the penalty

Vicente 8 - His introduction changed the game. Technically a class above everyone else on the pitch, he was a positive influence on the side in the second half. Once he's got to full match fitness, we are going to be in for a treat

Vincelot/Hoskins - can't rate them, they were barely involved.

Casper 4.5 terrible game. His decision making was terrible. Gets .5 for saving the freekick.
Painter 6.5 not up to his usual standard Gave leeds too much space
Greer 6 Bad clearances, lost possession too easy for second goal, not enough effort to stop the third. Gave leeds too much space
Dunk 6.5 Gave leeds too much space, not enough effort to stop the third (seemed to go right through him and greer)
Calderon 6.5 some ugly tackles, still makes himself available.
Bridcutt 7.5 did his best in the first half to play football while we were overrun in midfield
Dicker 6 I think people who criticise him for giving the ball away too much miss (or ignore) his ability to keep the ball and break up opponents attacks, but he was giving away more balls than he was keeping or attacks he was breaking up. Overwhelmed in the first half, improved in the second.
Lualua 7.5 Didn't shine in the first half when sharing the wing duties with noone, but improved in the second half.
Noone 7.5 Gone back to looking at the ball and keeping it too long, but was, imo, our best player in the first half, but I think it was righ to take him off at half time and leave lualua on.
CMS 8 great work rate, well taken goals
Barnes 8 two asssits, great penalty, good link up play

Vicente 8.5 sheer class
Hoskins 6.5 Didn't really get into the game too much.
Vincelot not on long enough. His versatility is what keeps him on the bench, gus would rather have him there to replace a midfielder or a defender rather than start him and have a defender on the bench who can't replace a midfielder.

We cannot defend like that and expect to win. We stood off and gave them too much room, we were ill disciplined (not as in fouls, but as in sticking to their jobs and tactics, following the ball and being drawn out of position) and that is one of Casper's worst performances for us, imo.

Playing two wingers at the start left us light in centre midfield and ceded the first half to leeds. I think the turnaround after bringing Vicente on was as much about getting more bodies in midfield as it was about Vicente's great qualities.

First half the forwards didn't have a lot to feed on, but in the second they showed a threat that I thought was missing v Liverpool.

Vincelot (who I think is excellent) was brought on (who knows where he was told to play)

It looked to me like when he came on Hoskins was pushed up front to take CMS's place, and Vincelot slipped into midfield

I didn't say he was awful, I said 'awful by his high standards but still had his moments'. As I said earlier, watch the goals again. He didn't do nearly enough to prevent the second (although Greer was also very culpable) and was very easily beaten during the build up for the first, then seemed to give up, which is not like him. CMS was the same first half, well off the pace and his first touch was awful, but both improved second half.

Any more?

It seemed to me that we lost the plot at that moment as Vincelot came on (replaced CMS) , where was he told to play, better if he had been brought on to 'replace' Painter who was/is frankly not up to the job.
