Worthing
Kuszczak - 6 - not a lot to do
Calderon - 6.5 - very strong going forward, but defensively poor, not disciplined and dives in. Put him in midfield for JFC.
Ward - 6 - Slightly nervy at first
Upson - 6 - Poor game by his standards
Greer - 7 - not too bad.
Andrews - 7 - had a very sloppy period in the second half, but spent most of the game covering JFC
JFC - 3 - Arguably at fault for both goals, dreadful shot followed by half-hearted challenge prior to pen, allowed player to get out of corner for 2nd. One great cross-field pass, but hopelessly out of his depth and must be left out of the 2nd leg for his own good.
Orlandi - 6 - dreadful at first, but eventually got into the game.
Buckley - 6 - looked dangerous at times, but injury prone and needs to be off-loaded
Lingaard - 7 - looked dangerous, but think I would prefer CMS. (or both)
Ulloa - 6 - could've done better with the chance in the second half.

KLL - 6 - nothing of note
March - 6.5 - looks good on the ball, but needs to be on the wing
CMS - N/A

i really cant understand why people are so negative, we played pretty well last night and bossed the game, against a very good side.

The luck didnt go with us, thats all.

This. An inch higher and their shot off the bar wouldnt have been be a goal, an inch lower and our shot off the bar would have been a goal. We could easily be talking about a 2-1 victory, and thats before taking into account a def penalty(s) that we should have had. Very fine margins.

Kuszczak 7 (some of the Derby corners required good judgement)

Calderon 6 (8 going forward)
Greer 7
Upson 4 (foul was bloody awful)
Ward 7

Andrews 7
Forster-Caskey 7 (did very well for him)
Orlandi 6 (11 corners we had and they were not good enough)

Buckley 7 (caused havoc for 20 minutes)
Ulloa 5 (not up against much)
Lingard 7 (goal +1)

Subs:

Lua Lua 7 (made just one chance)
March 7
CMS 6

Oscar Garcia 7 (Lualua played incorrectly -1)

Viewed from E1F. Forster-Caskey stats not clear. Not sure who was responsible sometimes. Buckley probably looked better from my angle, running into the channels.

Did we go to the same match? They were good for the first few minutes but after that? Poor passing & in 2nd half total lack of incentive going forward for most of time.

Kuszczak 6 - goal really unlucky, caught another punched another, not much else to do.
Greer 7.5 - better as game went on, really good in middle of 2nd half & covered a lot of ground then. MoM
Calderon 7 - didn't quite keep up with opposition when defending but mostly good in attack.
Upson 6 - should know about not giving penalties away, some poor passes but solid at times.
Ward 7.5 - looked frustrated at times but solid.
Andrews 5 - poor passing a lot of the time.
Forster-Caskey 3 - couldn't cope for most of time on field. Should he have played?
Orlandi 5 - he was there but didn't really do that much.
Buckley 5 - not sure what to make of him. He ran up the pitch but just isn't the player he was. Will he improve?
Lingard 7 - good goal & some good runs but perhaps he caught the reluctance of the team to go forward in the middle of the 2nd half.
Ulloa 5 - he didn't seem to want to go very near the goal. Did some defensive work ok but couldn't deal with ball at his feet.

Lua-Lua 4 - controlled by their defence. Lousy crosses & seemed to go sideways too often, not forward. Played too far back.
March 6 - tried, thank goodness & some good runs but please practice corners!
CMS 7 - found space, looked keener than anyone, lovely run. Why is he only being given 10 minutes every week?

And CHICKSEN was a sub??????

Agree with the top two but very harsh on Andrews who was the pick of the central midfielders and worked tirelessly throughout. Passing was generally decent, but he made one very poor one which put us in trouble maybe thats what people remember instead of his all-round contribution.

Andrews got turned and left for dead by their younger more dynamic CMers several times. He had been a very good player including internationally, but age has caught up with him unfortunately. Now a weakness for us, but there are others too, with savvy opposing managers successfully planning to exploit that lack of pace in our current CM.

I agree with all of that but he wasn't our second worst player Thursday. In fact I would put him in the top half of Albion players that night.

His not the future he doesn't have the legs anymore, but he does seem to generally get poor marks regardless of his contribution and more popular players tend to get away with worse performances.
