Brezovan-2- An awful performance. A day full of flapping at crosses, running out like a headless chicken and generally being incompetent. Not up to this level.

Calderon-4- Got in an important block off the line but had a really tough time.

Greer-4- Certainly wasn't one of his better performances

Dunk-3- He looked out of his depth today. That own goal was so so so bad

El-Abd-6 MOM- Gave Carroll a hard time and got stuck in. We fell to pieces when he went off. Best of a bad bunch.

Buckley-2- Ineffectual. They knew exactly what he was going to do and took him out of the game

Bridcutt-5- Unfortunate to score 2 og's. He worked hard but it just wasn't enough

Navarro-2- Really bad performance from Navs. May as well have played with 10 men

LuaLua-5- Cracking strike for the goal. Had a few decent runs but didn't get the support he requires

Vokes-3- Had no service all game. Could have done better with the second goal

Barnes-4- No service. Worked hard but didn't get into the game

Subs:

Noone-4- Had a couple of runs but nothing special
Vicente and CMS- Can't really rate them.

Liverpool all 10 - they raped us, quality players that clicked. But they are a very expensively put together team.

Brez - 4 - Made a couple of good saves, but seems to be lacking the footwork and crossing confidence to play at a level higher than he is now. Would like to see a more dominant keeper in the pipes.
Cald - 4 - Either Downing is rapid fast or Inigo is terribly slow. When he wasnt chasing Downing he did ok, but pace and stamina let him down.
Greer - 5 - faily solid. Dived in a couple of times on Suarez and got skinned, but played Carrol very well.
Dunk - 5 - Despite the own goal I thought he did very well against Suarez. Also got in a couple of timely blocks.
El Abd - 5 - Isnt a left back, but had Carrol in his pocket. Love his mentality for the game -Ala Oatway.
Buckley - 2 - Was terribly dissappointing. Ran down blind alleys, tried too much and ended up losing the ball 9/10 times. It was like he was trying to impress for a transfer - but ended up being shit.
Navarro - 3 - Too slow on the ball, couldnt pick out the stripes when he could have. He puts in a shift and covers a lot of ground, but he doesnt have the quality on the ball to keep the game moving at a quick enough pace.
Bridcutt - 4 - Slightly better than Navarro and still scored the most amount of goals. Again, too slow to move the ball, even when we are trying to posses the ball.
Lua Lua - 7 - He made Englands right back look silly on more than one occasion. Raw power and pace, and needs to work on first touch, but looked good. Gives me nightmares for Euro 2012.
Barnes - 3 - Sorry, I watched him for a good 20 minutes and didnt see anything worthwhile from him. As an attacking threat, non-exisitent, as a midfielder, didnt win enough tackles. Not sure what the future holds for him.
Vokes - 6 - Ill give the man some credit, he won 9/10 balls in the air and tried to bring others into the game even when surrounded by Reds. Is a target man for sure - now lets see how CMS and him gel.

Subs -
Vicente - looks class on the ball. Should start every game.
Noone - The occasion got the better of him.
CMS - Would have loved to see him replace Buckley. I don't know if he can go any higher playing as a striker. He is going to turn into a Dirk Kyut type player.

Overall - I think the difference in pace, speed and fitness was evident. We didnt look very sharp and chased shadows for most of the game. I love the possession game but we need to learn when to play fast and when to play slow. Liverpool werent 5 goals better than us, but it proves to the players that we will get punished if we make mistakes. I also dont think Liverpool even got out of 3rd gear. A trip to Wembley would be nice, but I think the club needs another year in Championship before we can transition to the Prem.

Sorry but some of these ratings are f***ing for a pathetic. Giving Lua Lua a six when he tore Englands RB to pieces? Anyway here's my version:

Brez 6- Few errors, few good saves and HE DID SAVE A PENALTY.

Calderon 5- Poor game. Struggling this season.
Greer 6- Did ok at times, but mostly not great.
Dunk 5- As with Greer. Loses a mark for the own goal.
El- Abd 7- Good job out of position, only scored 3 while he was on and the Carroll thing was funny.

Buckley 5- Not great when he was on.
Bridcutt 7- Good game in my opinion. Could do nothing about the own goals.
Navaro 6- Reasonable game.
Lua Lua 8/9- Belting goal, main causer of problems, tore Johnson apart.

Barnes 6- Ok first half, anonymous second.
Vokes 7- Really impressed with him today, won a lot in the air and held it up well.

Noone 5- Little impact.
CMS 5- Ditto
Vicente 5- Ditto

Brezovan 5 - a few flaps but some great balls in to deal with
Calderon 3 - all danger from downing, exploited our weakness at defending
Greer 7
Dunk 5
El-Abd 5 - not sure why he tried to foul carrol all the time
Buckley 3 - ineffective like palace game for first 70 mins
Navarro 4 - good at defending, but cant take the ball forward and his role was the box 2 box midfielder in this game
Bridcutt 6 - tried his best but players surrounding him made it a bit harder for him!
Barnes 5 - works hard, but no real quality
Lua Lua 8 - best player by a mile
Vokes 6 - won every header, needs someone up there with him

Subs:
Noone 4
CMS 5
Vicente 7 - picked out every pass needed
