Harsh to give anyone really low marks, we were men against boys, and it showed we are far far away from Prem class, prob far away from being top 6 Champ class too.
Brez was really the only one who let us down badly. Restored a slight bit of pride with a good pen stop in front of the kop.

Think some people have been a bit harsh here... one mistake doesn tmean you have had an awful game

Brez - 4 some good saves inc the penalty but all round instilled fear in our defence
Calde - 5 did his best but too slow back tracking for this level
El Abd - 8 out of position and was skinned soem times but hardly ever lets us down - limited player who never stops MOM
Greer - 5 - looked totally lost as the defence fell around him... really didnt deal with Carroll
Dunk - 5 - ok unitil that goal...d efinately a boy against men
Bridcutt -5 - 2 own gaols and oen awaful mis pass but otherwise pretty good and tidy. did what he was asked.
Navs - 4 - just wasnt his day a limited player who has played above himself-useful in the champ but this was too far
Bucks - 4 - injured?... never really got going
Lua Lua - 7 - was himself... mercurial scared the shit out of defenders scored a cracker BUT often made the wrong decision and pretty useless at covering back
Barnes - 5 - was so out of position it was ridiculous... not his fault that awful cross ball pass as what the hell was he doing there in the first place. Badly misused by Gus (altho could be trained to play that position)
Vokes - 6 did what he was asked but I really believe he is the wrong player for us. has been trained to take the ball with his back to the goal all his career. To do that he needs a forward in front of him to run on.....where was that forward?

Noone - 4 Liverpool remembered him and did their homework so ineffective
Vicente - too late and by this time we were gung -ho
CMS - as above

Brezovan - 4 - Shaky, touch of the butterfingers.
Calderon - 5 - Not that bad attacking wise but woeful defending.
Greer - 5 - Won some headers but can't give a defender higher than a five.
Dunk - 4 - Certainly nowhere near his best, the scouts wouldn't have been impressed.
El Abd - 5 - Not a full back.
Buckley - 4 - Looked too scared to play.
Navarro - 4 - Completely outclassed in midfield.
Bridcutt - 5 - Used the ball ok but also well and truly outclassed.
Barnes - 3 - Usual poor performance giving the ball away countless times.
Lua Lua - 7 - Man of the match by a country mile, dangerous crosses and a goal.
Vokes - 5 - Works hard, bit paceless and never really had a chance.

Subs:
Noone - 2 - Absolutely woeful, rabbit in headlights, we should have bitten Cardiff's hands off.
Mackail-Smith - 4 - Runs a lot, isn't suited to a lone striker role.
Vicente - 6 - Touch of class when he came on.

contrary to popular argument I'd give brez a 4. But then I'd be nervous at a huge game like that, too.

Embarrassing. Can't steel myself to pick up a newspaper today and fortunately I didn't see any TV last night. For the first 60 mins we were in with a vague chance, but in reality Liverpool could have had three or four in the first half.

At least that puts paid to all the ridiculous talk of another promotion. We would be embarrassed on a regular basis. Yes, we beat Newcastle, but would we have done so if they had their Africans?

Brezovan 5. He did make some good saves and saved a penalty, but too many errors. I would let him try to redeem mimself against Hull, before chucking him out.
Calderon 4. His time has gone. Need a permanent replacement at RB.
Greer 4. Can't remember exactly which goal it was (3rd, 4th?) where he was running back completely unaware of what was going on around him. Result? Goal.
Dunk 4. Not all bad, but clearly fighting a rearguard action all afternoon. Need to see that og again to check just how bad it was.
El Abd 6. Best of a poor bunch in defense. Big mistake taking him off.
Bridcutt 6. Did quite a lot of good stuff, but some seriously misplaced passes. Had no chance with the 1st og. Couldn't see the 2nd.
Navarro 5. OK, but not good enough.
Buckley 3. Don't think he did anything positive in the 1st half (continuing on from where he left off in his last game). Going through a bad patch. Gus was correct to sub him at half time.
Lua Lua 7. Great goal. Presented Liverpool with some problems. MOM.
Barnes 5. Not good enough to compete on the day.
Vokes 7. Thought the lad did OK. Won just about every header. Unfortunately there was no support. Should not have been taken off. Would like to see him playing with CMS and at least one winger.

Subs:
Noone 5. Not a lot to show for his 45 mins.
Vicente 3. Did virtually nothing in my opinion. Looks like a luxury player we can't afford. Hope I'm wrong.
CMS 3. Won nothing in the air as per usual. Ran around a lot to little effect.

Manager: 3. Got the tactics entirely wrong. Got the subs wrong. Not helped by the majority of the team.
