FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
You need glasses, I don't remember JFC playing any long cross field passes. Plenty from Holla, Gardner, halford and dunk though

Hurst Green
Stockdale 6 (doesn't always convince)

Agree can appear so flat footed. I called a tw@t by some a few rows below for dare asking him to catch it when completely unchallenged at a corner. He should be doing routinely but doesn't even punch but slaps away normally into the danger zone.

And what did stockdale do wrong today ? Other than keep us in the game in the 1st half.

Nothing other than not being convincing at crosses.

Stockdale 6 let in two goals but made one very good save not much else to do to be honest
Calderon 6 fans favourite scores a goal
J Bennett 6 one of his better games having Colunga in front of him helped
Dunk 6.5 best of the defenders had his hands full with Murrey
Halfords 6 Has he learn to throw like that since Hypia left!
Jfc 6 scored one but yet again gave a silly foul which not for the first time this season led to a goal
Gardner 6 giving him 6 but struggling to remember anything he did
Holla 6.5 best of the midfield Thunder shot well saved
E Bennett 6 couple of nice turns but also a few wayward passes and one wounded run that he should have got a shot away but instead passed to a reading player!
Colunga 7 funny how we see the same game and see diffrent things I thought he was very good today
Bent 3 did nothing of any note

Cms 6.5 works so had his touch was very good today welcome back
Paddy 5.5 couple of good passes
March 5.5 couple of runs and useful passes looking forward to Solly gaing full fitness

This is a pretty good summary for me, although I tend to agree that Gardner's score is generous.

Fairly difficult to award points for this one, they were all pretty atrocious in the first half but much improved in the second. Stockdale made 2 very good saves and couldn't do anything about either of the goals

Stockdale 7 - Improving match by match
Calderon 6 - Along with the rest of the defence missing for most of the 1st half .. Goal was a Beaut thou
J .Bennett 5 - Tried to be too fancy just needs to keep to playing football
Dunk 6 - Murray owned him and Halford .. improved 2nd half
Halford 6 - As above but his long throws caused all sorts of issues to the Reading defence

JFC 5 - The whole midfield was non existent in the 1st half ... scores 5 for the goal
Gardner 4 - Please send him back
Holla 6 - As above but improved 2nd half and so unlucky with that shot
Colunga 7 - Best of the midfielders
E Bennett 5 - still seems of the pace

Bent 4 - Went off injured early is this his last game for us

CMS 4 - Sadly looks a yard off the pace and cannot beat anyone
Paddy 4 - After 5-mins looked totally knackered would never last 90-mins

1st half ... We were owned by Murray who won everthing in the air and Reading should have been 3-up

2nd half ... complete turnaround and we equally could have scored 4/5 .... whatever you put in their tea NJ please repeat again and again and again

That's funny, because mt Liverpool supporting friend who went said he was one of our best players today.

Stockdale 6 no chance with goals
Calderon 5 loses possession too much
Halford 6 good long throws
Dunk 7 MOM Steady reliable as always.
J Bennett 5 goog going forward but loses posseession too easily
E Bennett 6 some good runs surprised hebwas taken off.
Holla 6 good reading of the game and tackling but passes bit wayward.
Gardner 5 Good work rate but not enough forward prompting.
JFC 6 Looked better player further forward
Colunga 5 Does not get involved enough but some good passes.
Bent 3 Not enough involvement during short time on the pitch
Subs

CMS 6 Plenty of running and effort looked better with Halford up front.
March 4 not involved enough
McCourt 4 complete waste not one positive release him in January.

I despair with people who think forstercaskey had a good game. He is not good enough. 23 games, 1 goal & no assists (that I remember). Today's was a 2 yard tap in - real quality finish. he had his 1st decent shot in his 21st game against millwall. Why take Holla off & not him- when Holla actually does defend & pass

Thought Colunga had a really lively 2nd half, didnt need to beat the man to get his crosses in either.

Stockdake 6
Calde - 5
Dunk -7 (I though he was class after first 20)
Halford - 7 extra mark for those throws
Bennet - 6
Holla - 8 my MOM - won a shed load of loose ball in midfield and did a very tidy job.
Gardner - 6
JFC - 6
E Bennet - 6
Colunga - 7 - seemed to be involved in all attacks where we looked dangerous and provided assist for 2nd
Bent - 3 didn't miss him at all when he hobbled off
CMS 4 - too weak, went down too easily
March 4
McCourt 4 - thought he should've played the simple ball more often

First 30-40 mins was absolutely shit. We could/should've won that game 2 or 3 nil if we'd started from the off.
