no danger of selling out League 1 or 2 play-offs, and a better atmosphere.

Dunno about that Jim.

Port Vale and Oxford would sell out. Lincoln, Crewe, Northampton, Rotherham and Shrewsbury (maybe) would probably sell 25-30k each.

In our league Brizzle, Charlton, Hudds, Plymouth, Sheff Wed, Soton would all sell out. The likes of us, Exeter, Carlisle, MK Dons, Oldham, P'Boro and Swindon would all come close.

Everyone in division 2 with the exception of Scunny and possible Donny would sell out.

Come close? Us? I'm pretty sure we'd sell out a Wembley Play-Off Final fairly easily. We took over 30K to Cardiff and thats a billion miles away!

Maybe we should offer up the Amex for the occasion.

It maybe the right kind of size for such an event

Personally, I don't think the play off finals should be at Wembley anyway. I know im in a minority but I think its ridiculous that players at Rochdale, Stockport and Shrewsbury and teams like that can regularly play at Wembley when there are a lot of better players at Premier and Championship level who never get that opportunity. The same applies to the Tin Pot Trophy

Sort of agree. But fans of clubs like you mentioned would never get a wembley trip otherwise. Where as holding the FA cup semi finals there is bizarre!

Cardiff and the Millennium stadium is a far nicer day out than the shite hole that Wembley is.

Definately. I know wembley has to pay for itself but having the semis there is another thing that has ruined the fa cup for me. The semis should go back to villa park, hillsborough and old Trafford etc and nowadays the emirates aswell

If you like sitting in traffic jams for 12 hours.

while Wembley is well known for its easy jam free traffic access :O

FA certainly knwo have to take the shine off somthing. what exactly is the purpose of a national stadium if such events, important to the fans, are not hosted there? surely 3x play off games + FA vase (if that is at risk) would bring in more moeny than one European Cup final... or are they going to rape everyone on ticket prices?

Look on the plus side.

Lower league sides won't have to play on that dreadful surface and as for the Albion, well we have a 100% record at the Millennium Stadium I do believe.

I'd be more than happy to go back

seconded, also with regard to a comment about Rochdale etc playing at Wembley, i'm from an age when Wembley was special. when we got there in 83 only 5 clubsides max would play there (league cup, FA cup, league winners in Charity Shield) now a quick calculation reveals 15+, I might be a bit out with the sums but you get my point

I thought we sold just under 30k? Either way it was around that mark. You reckon there are another 10 - 12k of people who didn't go to Cardiff who would want to go to Wembley? Can't see it myself.

do the FA cup SEMI finals still get played there?

I think its a joke they are there in the first place

They'll probably play the Quarter Finals there too to make up for the money they won't be getting from the playoff finals.

This will probably screw the 2018 bid, when it becomes apparent to the whole of Europe that we cannot even grow a half decent pitch in our own National stadium. Its going to be embarrassment CENTRAL.
