I don't think that's fair. He was asked to write an assessment of how he thought Moores was doing as coach. He wrote an honest one, submitted it to the ECB, and then some mug within the organisation chose to leak it.

However at the same time he's a bloody brilliant cricketer, and in my opinion was unfairly treated re the england captaincy. He may be a brilliant individual talent, but as a team player, his work ethic sucks. That in itself, for me, drops him out of the 'brilliant cricketer' bracket.

As for being treated unfairly as captain, I don't recall anyone sticking a gun to his head and telling him to behave like a weapons-grade arsehole. With captaincy comes responsibility - and responsibility is not something he can cope with. Sure, he shouldn't have been appointed in the first place, and when he duly behaved like said arsehole, he was treated accordingly.
