Estupinian is so curious. When he's good, he's brilliant and he is brilliant most of the time. When he is off it, he looks absolutely pub. I guess we should be grateful for that otherwise he'd probably be elsewhere.

It’s hardly the back end of a gruelling season though is it.

He didn’t get much of a break at the end of last season though.

His last game with Ecuador was on 21st June, he then had a short break and missed the start of pre-season training and joined up with the team in America for the pre season tournament. It could be starting to take a toll on him.

He dovetailed brilliantly with Caicedo. Away at Plucky’s LegoArena in April, they covered for each other intuitively.

A personal view (probably going against RDZ instructions?), when he’s off form during a game, I wish he’d go back to basics and concentrate on defence. A few times this season when we’re playing a slow possession game 70 yards upfield against an ultra chilled low-block, Estupinan’s tits around with Mitoma going nowhere fast. The opposition right side bide their time, then destroy the pair in a counter attack.

I think a lot of people make the mistake of thinking:

Season finishes - player rests for months - player comes back for pre-season - season starts

It just doesn’t work like that anymore, especially for a South American playing in Europe like Pervis. Unfortunately we’re probably seeing the downside of it at the moment, but we had a very good upside of it for last season. Hopefully we’ll see that upside again soon.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
Was inevitable when we didn't sign a backup to him over the summer, the most crucial player in the team with no proper backup and now this

Gutting.
Massive chance for Lamptey who has done brilliantly this season.
Any other cover there?

Milner also when over his injury. May explain pervis’s first half performance on Saturday.
Hopefully won’t be too long. Chance for Tariq to shine. He does look like he’s back to something like his pre injury form.
We could also look at Igor as a replacement at LB and put Tariq on the right.

He had a big pack held on his hamstring after coming off Sat so no surprise.
