Gutting.
Massive chance for Lamptey who has done brilliantly this season.
Any other cover there?

Veltman/Lamptey would be the main ones but then obviously that leaves us potentially with a gap at right back.

However, Gross and Milner (when fit) can play fullback, and possibly Hinshelwood (as he played there in the pre-season).

Imari Samuels from the U21's is a left-back and has had some involvement with the first team.

Please no more under 21s starting at the moment !! We need stability

A surprising large number of NSC'ers over the summer were emphatic that we didn't need any more fullbacks .

That looked so wrong. Beyond Veltman and Estupinan there was no one else with real quality, at that stage Lamptey several seasons out of form.

2.0 at Betfair lay-betting us finishing top 6. Printing money, when you look at the vastly more expensive squads of stars in the PL eg Villa. In addition 12 clubs have a rest whilst we're in Europe.
Agreed, that is outstanding value. Having watched Chelsea on Monday night there is no way we will be finishing above them this season. Not sure whether selling us at 65 and/or buying them at 62 would be a play on the spreads.

As an aside, it already looks very likely that the PL Top 10 will be precisely the 10 clubs that would have been predicted by a consensus at the start of August. No surprises.

I said in the summer that Chelsea and Spuds will gain as a one off hugely from a week's prep/rest for most PL games. I bet rarely, but some interesting odds just now, @LamieRobertson should take a look.

Double your money on Albion not making top 6.
16/1 Spuds win title
150/ Chelsea win title (they're buying Osimhem and Toney in January)
7/1 Arsenal win title
Effectively 6/1 Albion not making top 10.
