Agreed. If you are going to lie in an attempt to avoid a valid £35 parking fine, saying you were having a "panic attack" must be about the most idiotic defence ever. You'd almost be better off saying you were pissed.

As a car driver when you speed or park where you shouldn't you take that gamble. If you can't afford to pay fines then don't park where you are likely to get a fine. The biggest problem with this problem is YOU. Your GF did you a favour so that you could pop into the shop and now she has to claim a panic attack to get out of paying. Man up and pay the fine for her, don't let her get herself into more trouble by lying
