occasionally i get to Withdean quite early (1.15ish) on match days. Often the stretch of road (Valley Drive?) above the car park is taken up by ("average") cars that appear to be carefully parked so the spaces between them are just too small for a car, especially the areas near the car park entrances. Some cars have Albion stickers in the windows but some have clothing, eg jackets on the back seat.
When I leave Withdean the cars have miraculously moved closer together and other cars (more expensive with personalised plates) have parked in the gap.
It has been suggested that these ("average") cars belong to stewards who are reserving spaces for certain latecomers.
