Parking around Withdean.

occasionally i get to Withdean quite early (1.15ish) on match days. Often the stretch of road (Valley Drive?) above the car park is taken up by ("average") cars that appear to be carefully parked so the spaces between them are just too small for a car, especially the areas near the car park entrances. Some cars have Albion stickers in the windows but some have clothing, eg jackets on the back seat.

When I leave Withdean the cars have miraculously moved closer together and other cars (more expensive with personalised plates) have parked in the gap.

It has been suggested that these ("average") cars belong to stewards who are reserving spaces for certain latecomers.

Conspiracy theory or what?

To draw a line under what stewards can and cannot do;

They cannot issue tickets, authorise your car to be towed or legally enforce any parking restrictions whatsoever. Despite many of them blatantly lying and telling errant parkers they have all these powers they are simply trying to bully people into not parking around withdean. If they engaged in some simple primary communication skills such as asking politely rather than the gobshite aggressive one they usually employ they might find it is far more effective.

That is abosolute crap!!!!!!! There are reserved spaces for certain club staff and visiting directors etc, the rest of the carpark is for disabled and park and ride.

Are you for real ? pop along to withdean on a saturday afternoon when the Albion are playing away and see how full the cark park is,(max half full) and again count the BHA plates and stickers (wont be many if any).
if you really believe suporters do not park in the car park, your either misguided or in cuckko land.

Is there anything to stop you parking at Withdean at 10 in the morning, using the P&R into town and then picking it up after the match?

Just down from the lesiue centre, i use a motorcycle for home games.

Dos'n't affect me but the other match day staff park in the lesiure centre car park as directed by the stewards.

From experience, the stewards won't let you in the car park without showing a disabled badge.

In fact there are very hot on it.

You also get guests of the club, those in hospitality etc.. and whoever the away club bring along as guests.

Read the post further up, some have figured going into town early on the park and ride.

Number plates a lot of club staff have bha plates.

The club staff park in the barrier-ed off area in front of the sportman,
im talking about the rest of the free for all car park.

During your meeting on the 14th, offer up the suggestion that the cars in the car park are counted with 10 mins left of the game to play, and then again 15 mins after the game, its not rocket science.

No one ever noticed the the rush of cars to get out on the car park after the game ?

Before you get all high and mighty, you should be parking your bike in the tennis court with the stewards, not taking up a bike space that belongs to the leisure centre.

I'm a bit confused by that - why wouldn't cars that are there legitimately have stickers in back window ?

My brother is there legitimately and he's got a sticker in the back window...

.. sorry, you've probably seen it
