Why would they be desperate for cash now? 1m+ for their cup run and if need be, they could sell of Williams or Zaha.

They are just extending the amount of time they have to sell tickets...

I don't wanna defend them but this grasping at strwas is cringey.

Some sense at last. There is no shortage of money at Palace. We've got money to spend wisely, which is what has been working for us. We don't want to end up paying millions for players that then flop. Instead we can sign someone just as good from abroad/free/last year of contract.

Our money goes into keeping our youngsters. When we finally sell Zaha and Williams in a couple of years we'll get enough money to run the club for 10 years.

If we had the competition for fans that they have to put up, I'm pretty sure we'd do the same thing.

Its already been mentioned that due to poor attendances and lack of support Palace expects to lose in excess of £3M over the course of the season , the cup run still leaves them £1M+ in deficit

This is not actually true. The figure was £2m before Sky money was increased. We have gotten over a million from the cup run (more to come?) and have had 5 or 6 games on Sky this season at over 100k each. We're breaking even, says Dougie.

They know our attendances will rise even more next season so they've got to do something.

Meopham, Kent.
Season Ticket renewals gone out already with HALF a season to go! Under 10 season Tickets FREE with an Adult ticket. Junior prices up to 18 years old at £5 per match.

The most telling info = First price band deadline ENDS 3rd Feb!

That indicates they are DESPERATE for cash in the bank. Looks like CPFC2010 arent really pumping in the money after all?

Credit to them, that is a cracking deal, and a very wise move. That brings the next generation of fan through. Deals for U10s are all about the fans parent bringing them and paying for them, but the next stage is whether you are pricing it for fans at an age when they are starting to pay for entry themselves.

I would say, any championship club ONLY losing 1M a season would be a result TBH!!

You're funny. I just love how the football world values one of our players more highly than your entire first eleven :). Not that he'd be sold of course, Zaha and Williams are on long contracts.

RE accepting Championship status, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the case! We're expecting mid table and anything better is a bonus. This is a rebuilding season while we wait for Zaha and Williams to get a bit older. Our team gets better every season with another year of experience for our brilliant kids :). Some excellent signings of internationals have worked well for us (Jedinak and Parr) and we've done very well in the market without actually spending more than a million or so. We've just bid for one of Derby's best players, Bailey, and it looks like we might be getting him in. We've got another regular international on trial in Tshabalala.

Steve Parish: "We don't create young players to sell them. We create them to get the best out of them, get us promoted and then hand them to Manchester Unjted when they're ready. Our players are going nowhere."
If a premier league team comes in for Zaha or Williams, they'll be off.

A) There is no such word as gotten used in correct English , it may pass as literacy in chav town and america but not in the educated world .

B) Greasy Freedman is already a proven liar.

C) As already stated your tinpot club are making absolutely nothing from a good number of season tickets that were sold by the gay willy wonka. Your cup run is paying for those seats.

D) Your shit and you know you are

Whilst agreeing with much of your post i must contest the word 'gotten'. It's an old English word that fell into disuse this side of the pond but it is historically part of our mother tongue!

Alarmingly I agree with what you have written. But I do think you are being naive by taking what Steve Parish is saying as red. Zaha will put in a transfer request in a flash, if any of the top six Prem teams come in for him. The long contract will get you a lot more for him, I'll give you that. As for sorting season tickets now, I don't see the problem. It looks like some good deals to be had. I have to admit that Palace this season look far removed from last season. But whatever any of us say, our best players can be cherry picked by the big boys, which is shit, but its Premiership football and the grotesque money, that they can throw around.

This is nothing new, palace have been selling them like this for years. Under SJ you had to buy in November or December to get the best prices.

Only a big one. As Dougie said, "Wilfried is too good for a club like Newcastle, no disrespect. He'll only leave for the very top". Plus only a big team could win a bidding war for him.

He's not good enough for one of the top clubs yet, but he will be. Another couple of years with us and we'll gladly pass him on to City/United in exchange for a large pile of cash. Same with Williams.

He has a point there Glen. They are managed by Pardew.

I must say I am heartened by some of the replys on here, YES it is a good deal, the lowest priced tickets are being sold until Feb, before, it was before XMAS, this gives people a chance to get the best deal without having to choose between your kids xmas and a season ticket!!!
Yes our attendances are lower than we would like, but lets not start on the withoutdean! atm your attendances are good, but with the new stadium and promotion that was to be expected, it's maintaining those "new" supporters as ST holders year after year, you offer the BEST price early, so you know roughly how much you have as income the following summer (and what losses you may entail) which in turn makes the "casual" want a ST (sitting in the same place, or moving to where they they have friends) or renew early to show your SUPPORT to the club.
Are you all waiting until June before your renewal comes up?
How does it work at BHA?

If Newcastle offer him £30k a week and a million pound signing fee I can't see him turning it down. Football isn't about loyalty or loving your club, for the players its about maximising your earnings in as quick a time as possible. Play well for Newcastle then he'll be on £60k and a two million signing fee for someone else.....and so it goes on.

Whatever Doogie, Gus or any manager says, a contract is basically meaningless if a player wants to leave.

from the oxford dictionary,

'The form gotten is not used in British English but is very common in North American English, though even there it is often regarded as non-standard.'

Most of us are on pay monthly contracts so I guess it just rolls over unless we cancel!

I paid upfront so presumably will pay when the reminder comes up in March.

A question, if I may. What's the general consensus around Selhurst with regard to ST renewal? At Withdean (until last season) the savvy amongst us wouldn't get a ST knowing there was always seats available on the day, you only have to miss a few games a season for the net cost of a ST to be more than the combined price of a ticket for each game. This 'helped' suppress ST sales. What gives with all the offers and Groupon deals? Are the ST prices at CPFC sufficiently low enough to attract customers or are people now cherry picking matches to go to?

Personally speaking, I could have saved a few bob by not having a ST but I'm lazy, it's a habit and I had a certain pride in saying I was a ST holder but not everyone is as uber-fan as that.
