he was always a good left back and I personally think, dont know about everyone else but painter is the one person who can sometimes look off the pace!

If McNulty can regain his pre injury form then he would be up there with Painter, as it is I'm not sure if he will get back to that level which is rather sad as he was brilliant in the games he played before the freak injury

jimmy mac was great...... when we were shite. painter is absolutely class.

McNulty is not in the same class as Painter even before his injury so there is only 1 winner althgough he would be a good back up. I would go as far as to suggest that Painter must be one of the favourites for Player of The Season.

Agreed , and IMO the best in the last 20 years. Doesnt have the greatest pace but remains calm. knows all the tricks and just nulllifies sp?) almost everything down the right hand side ....

I was mightily impressed when Mac first arrived because he was good on the ball and liked to come forward, but Paints is streets ahead in his alround game

Would love to have both of them competing for a place but realistically Jimmy is too good to sit on the bench.
