Got the result and that was the important things, so your wet dream of having a shouting inept English manager will have to go on hold for a while longer.

Tell me the last time you were happy with an England performance......not the result a performance.

I think you missed my point. We got the result which was all that was important. My only worry was that the substitutions made meant there were more players out of position than a standard McGhee selection.

once he bought richardson on though we were back to basics .....sven saw that he was trying to pack the midfield but with no real outlet as cole and w.p had come off so bought on richardson and we were commfortable again

Code:
                Robinson

Hargreaves Carragher Ferdinand Cole

               Carrick
        Beckham Gerrard

Wright-Phillips Rooney
                   Owen

However, there's buggery squat chance of Lampard being dropped, sadly.

Agreed.

Was a tad annoyed that Rooney went on the right when Defoe came on, was hoping we would go 4-4-2 and try and tie the game up.

However other than the Hartson chance they did not look like scoring, so it was a case of job done.

The all important thing at present is 7 more points and then we are there. Can start worrying about how we win the thing once we have qualified. But if we were to win it, certain people on here would say it was not a proper win as it was not done by an English coach.

Hargreaves technically looks sound, but only seems to make cameo's for England, but there are better players in front of him.

I do think, sadly, he needs to come and play over here, so the media and fans alike can see what he is capable of. Playing on the continent has been good for his development, but it is with England a bit of a case of out of sight out of mind.

He's played the position enough for Bayern - I'm sure he'd be a better option than bloody Luke Young at right back until Neville returns. Much under-rated player.

at international level you cant really afford to play players out of position becaus they will get found out.....So hargreaves cant play at right back.....Luke young has cemented his place as the no.2 right back.....and we have cover for defense in every position now hich is always good

thewwwwwww, thought i was going barmy, young has worked hard and consistently to push ahead of glenn johnson for the no.2 right back spot, so fully deserves his chance.

But then at the last 2 tournaments Hargreaves selection has had something to do with the fact that he can cover that position. In Japan, Mills was the only specialist right back and Euro 2004 it was Gary Neville (although Phil was there as well).

exactly so only an injury crisis will ever see him feature, possibly an injury crisis will only just see him make the squad.
