Crippled pallets? a tomato growbag?

Ok I've lazy searched and pasted.

Oh and to the chap who said Arsenal, It's Woolwich Arsenal.

Port Vale are one of the few English league clubs not to be named after a geographical location. The name Port Vale exists on maps pre-dating the 1876 formation of the club, and is a reference to a valley of ports on the Trent and Mersey canal, associated with the city's pottery industry.

Having spent many a morning at the Thursday Press Conference with Andy, I can confirm he is a thoroughly nice fella.

Pendantically, they were Woolwich Arsenal before they moved north of the river. Not sure when they dropped the Woolwich bit.

Edit,1914 the year after doing a Milton keynes dons.

They began as "Dial Square", a workshop within the Royal Arsenal and were also known as Royal Arsenal before adding the "Woolwich"

This is the "Arsenal chap". Port Vale have also been known as Burslem Port Vale during their history.

I know this one because for the last couple of aways at Charlton I've been to that spot where there is the Young's flagship drinking and eaterie place.

Very expensive pizza but good beer.

If you look on the old ordnance survey maps (Godfrey editions) for Plumstead, you can identify two of the Arsenal grounds (Invicta and Manor) in circa 1893. Apparently, there are some back gardens of a couple of terraced houses in Plumstead which have rockeries constructed on the remains of terracing from the Invicta Ground. My grandfather went to school in the same street at that time !

Do you know that Port Vale are the only team in the league not to be named after a town or city, or something like that?

or Arsenal, named after an armaments factory ?

Pendantically, they were Woolwich Arsenal before they moved north of the river. Not sure when they dropped the Woolwich bit.Maybe because they aren't in Woolwich?

Oh and to the chap who said Arsenal, It's Woolwich Arsenal. No it's not, it's just Arsenal.

On Talks**t during the Palace game last night they posed the question: Which four league teams have 'ton' in their names?

Charlton, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Brighton!

Which was....

It was very upsetting, there were nearly fights on two occasions (and I mean nearly-thankfully someone had the presence of mind to calm it down). And lots of very loud and extremely anti-social stuff going on. There were lots of kids in carriage, and the poor bloke sitting next to me was really quite worried by it all.

I had a chat with another away regular who was there and he was really annoyed. The state of part of carriage when everyone got off was appalling. I think I gave the best summary at the start, it was very upsetting.

Burton Albion and Everton too so it was a stupid question peut-etre? They must have said in the top two divisions I would guess - Everton, us, Charlton and Wolves.

Southampton?
