Definitely got an eye for a clever pass. Looks a smart defender a bit like Velts, tidy defensively without being flashy.
For a free, looks a brilliant signing by the club again.
Ps I also anticipate another CB signing but this time with real pace. Pace at the back is the key and insurance to playing FH style of pressure.

So much time to bring the ball forward in them clips. Let's hope he's good under pressure when getting pressed.

As he can play LB I’d say this is a good signing as Pervis’s defensive abilities are somewhat limited.
looked ok against Liverpool playing against possibly the best player in the world at the moment.

(this post is barely about your comment, just an excuse for a rant - I've noticed a lot of Pervis slander recently and your post was just the first NSC search found mentioning his decline, and thus became an excuse for me to post this video as a counter argument. I often find myself wondering whether my opinions of players get too swayed by what is written on NSC over what I see - among the many players I liked were undav, Jahanbakhsh, webster and barco, all of whom I have been told by NSC at one time or another were not good enough - ok, Jahanbakhsh may have a point, Chelsea goal excepted - but I feel my eyes did not deceive with the others - I like Pervis but I feel myself looking at him in a different way after these sort of comments - obviously people are entitled to opinions, and even to believe their opinions are facts, maybe I am just too impressionable and should just read the NSC comments I agree with! my arguments probably are not helped by the fact that I like most of our players until they leave in a bad way - and have even forgiven Bruno. This post may have been better without the rant, but any excuse to derail a thread)

Impressive work by a full back who is no longer good enough for us

That Gruda back heel that Welbeck fluffed though :clap2:

Bloody right. Can people stop with the Perv attacks. The guy is class.

The complaint about Pervis often seems to be that he's caught out of position too much. This is utter nonsense... tactically he's told to push on, and at times the opposing team takes advantage of that. It's not Pervis being caught out of position, it's a tactical decision FH makes.

And covering players not always doing their jobs.

This, he’s probably not reached the heights of his first season after the injury but he’s still brilliant for us most weeks. People should be happy he’s at the level he’s at, as he’s still one of our best players on his day but probably not likely to move to a big six outfit anytime soon. Isn’t that what everyone wants?

Agree with this, but would note that it's not just a FH tactical decision, he did it under RDZ too. I'm a fan of Pervis. Despite that, he struggled after the injury last season which was exacerbated by RDZ bringing him back too early. His form has returned in 2025, but had a few bad games in a row (around Brentford away, which was the worst of the lot). He's been back on it for the last few games though.

I think the issue with Pervis is that the role he’s asked to do requires a lot of lung busting runs to get back into position. Until recently, I think his fitness has not been back at the level where he can do that. And nothing winds up a home crowd more than seeing a player look like he isn’t bothered.

That and his god awful shooting.
