Turns out, I still occasionally refer to ITV as Channel 3, on the basis that it was the third of the four channels. If nothing else, it could make for a pretty decent crime drama.
Would probably end up being on Channel 3 though.
What are these conversations you're having, and who with...?'Flibbertigibbet' - I think I've been using this old expression wrongly. Supposedly it's someone prone to gossipy chatter or talkative person. I've always used in relation to a lady of questionable morals . My modern fave now being " dirty little sausage wallet "!
Sure some of these others have mentioned but too many pages of fine words for me to work through this morning!
Here's some of my regulars:
Malarkey (most recently used this morning in a work email)
Taped (when recorded on the VM Tivo box etc)
Okey-dokey
Git (used yesterday on another thread here!)
Gubbins
TTFN
Your "modern fave" expression will be very handy for anyone meeting you to know that they should immediately terminate the conversation.'Flibbertigibbet' - I think I've been using this old expression wrongly. How apt!I used the word Flummoxed during a work conversation yesterday and received blank looks from several who had never heard it before.
