Why the wait, just get it over and done with

Imagine if Coppell was going to turn it down, comes home, sticks his feet up and looks at NSC, sees all these comments calling a maggot etc and decides thats it Im off!!

what pisses me off is that all the time Coppell sits there thinking about it and finalising the details of his fat contract with arse-face Madejski, we're still paying him!

Get on with it and stop wasting our time and money Coppell. Pack your bags and piss off now. Don't forget to pick up the signed photo of Geoff Thomas from your desk when you go.

WAITING GAME — Steve Coppell remains Reading’s first choice

READING have again delayed naming a successor to Alan Pardew.

The saga of who will take over as Royals’ new manager, following Pardew’s decision to join Division 1 rivals West Ham, has now dragged on for three weeks and encompassed seven matches.

Royals had intended making an appointment before Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bradford.

Then an announcement was planned for early this week.

But Royals chairman John Madejski told the Evening Post this morning: “Nothing will be announced today, but something should happen later this week.”

As we exclusively revealed two weeks ago, Brighton boss Steve Coppell has been lined up to take charge.

Seagulls supremo Dick Knight has admitted Royals have spoken to Coppell and believes he is the man they want.

But Knight wants the uncertainty resolved quickly before his own club becomes unsettled.

He said at the weekend: “I expect Steve to make his decision in the next few days. I will not have this club destablised as Reading has been in the last few weeks.”

Reading, though, continue to refuse to comment on the circumstances surrounding the delay.

And Madejski defended the time scale it is taking to appoint a new boss.

He said: “It’s not a question of whether things have gone on too long. I have always said we will not rush a decision.

“We want to get the right result for Reading. All the speculation is dangerous.

“I will not comment on speculation as it can give false dawns. If Brighton want to say anything that’s up to them, but I can only deal with truths.

“We hope to name someone this week – whoever it is.”

Reading know they can't afford to lose out on Coppell, having already been snubbed by Hull manager Peter Taylor.

Coppell is expected to say yes to a switch to Madejski Stadium, where Reading will be forced to pay around £150,000 compensation. However, should he have a dramatic change of heart then Tony Adams and Iain Dowie have also been interviewed

This is now seriously starting to F@@K up any preperation for the Grimsby game......................

and as everyone has forgoten

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE

Couldn't agree more... Reading seem to be able to find news just like that, why cant we?

He'd be mad to look at some of the things written in here though!

So no announcement today. Could be good news for us. Could be nothing.

Only thing for sure is that I'm not going to get much work done tomorrow morning whilst I wait for the UK timezone to hit daytime. :p

Bournemouth/Reading
Stoke, that article is from 2 days ago fella.

My thoughts:

Monday - Coppell goes to Stockport for that stress-test thing and then down to Reading for talks. Papers report that he's accepted. Nobody knows how true that is.

Tuesday - Coppell heads back to Brighton, arguably to announce to everyone that he is leaving. It'd be a tad rude to just come to us today having only finished talks with us last night.

Wednesday - Unveiled as Reading manager.

This isn't 100% evidence, it just seems to be the most likely scenario now... most of the time we don't tend to announce things straight away.

Plus, Reading 107fm and 2-Ten-fm announced this morning that any news would be saved for tomorrow.

I can't see how the club can publish any news unless Copell turns round and says he is staying/or going.
