Bell struggled against the Aussies and struggled in India, but has cashed in against lesser opposition, i.e. a batsman you can bring in to "do a job" but not yet someone who you'd fancy against the world's best.

Not a great cricket fan, but those who are appear to love statistics.

Apparently Collingward has the highest:-
- 4th wicket stand
- against Pakistan
- at Lords
...........
- on a Friday
- having had 2 cups of tea
- an egg sandwich
- and most importantly, a piece of chocolate cake!

At stumps Day Four (of five)

ENGLAND First Innings 528 for 9 declared
Second Innings 258 for 7

PAKISTAN First Innings 445

England with three second innings remaining are 341 runs ahead.
Looks like this one is heading for a draw.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
290/7 Hoggard and Plunkett are building a useful partnership.

1112: Hoggard shows his fellow tail-ender what to do by throwing the bat at a widish one from Razzaq to collect a single. Plunkett responds with a similar effort and almost under-edges to the keeper.

"These are very strange tactics from England. Pakistan cannot get these runs and will be glad to be given this get-out-of-jail card."
Rameez Raja is as bemused as everyone else

If we can get Inzy out before tea, or very shortly afterwards, we have half a chance
