Does anyone else feel sick on hearing the details of their murder it just breaks my heart. Those poor girls.

Huntley is guilty as sin, they definitely died in his house - cast iron FACT, he was seen scrubbing his car clean the day after, his fingerprints found on the bin containting their clothes and his hair found on their clothing.... doesn't look good for him.

According to Ian Huntley, they went into his house and decided to suffocate themselves. He just buried their bodies.

What was worse his girlfriend deliberalty gave false information to the police she is as bad as him.
In response to today's continued opening statement by the prosecution, the judge stated that it would have to be proved that the girls, having entered the house alive and left the house dead, did not die by accident, that it was murder if Ian Huntley is to be found guilty of two counts of murder.
Im intrigued as to how this is going to progress, given the fact that the post-mortem stated that it was impossible to ascertain the cause of death due to the extent of decomposition of the bodies, and that a LIKELY cause of death was asphyxiation. There's already been much stated to do with the fact that fibres have been found in his car and on the victims' clothes, but this doesn't prove murder. I know the police Crown Prosecution Service wouldn't bring a case to court without believing they had a solid case, so how are they going to prove murder? - Confession? Or are the defence gonna go for temporary insanity given the fact that they are not going to be contesting the fact that the girls died in the house, and that Ian Huntley was present?

Can't believe this court case is going ahead at the Tax payers exspence. He is guilty as charged.

It is going to prove interesting to see how his defence goes as it seems he has conceded the facts that the girls arrived alive, left dead and that he was responsible for disposing of the bodies.
Maybe he's going to claim they were behind him when he reversed the car and it was all a ghastly mistake.

Guilty as f***. They might as well call it a day now. It'll take one hell of a talented defence lawyer/barrister/whatever to make out any kind of case that isn't a complete insult to the intelligence.

This country gave the world the justice &jury system.
Everybody, no matter how evil & twisted is entitled to a fair trial.
He will be found guilty & then there will be no possibility of being let off on a technicality or mistrial.
That unfortunately is why we have to foot the cost.
If it was one of my kids that had been murdered I don't think I could sit there and listen to the evidence

Basically this case REQUIRES days/weeks of evidence, and rightly so - but it is effectively a total waste of time and money. The acid test will be how long the jury take to convict once all the preliminaries are out of the way. I give them five minutes tops.

It looks as if he is guilty however I pray no "technicality" comes into play at any time.
As for the girlfriend I feel she may walk free although she will feel guilty for the rest of her life - probable diminished responsibility or some other well thought up excuse. It should not be forgotten she is only charged with perjury - same offence as a recent Lord.
A terrible crime, I feel deeply sorry for the parents.

I don't think the point here is him trying to get off with it but to get a "mad" rather than "bad" verdict.
This means a difference between spending his sentence in a prison or spending his sentence in mental institution like broadmoor.
I know if I had to spend the rest of my life shut-up somewhere in a mental hospital would be preferred to a prison. There is also the opportunity for him that if he gets detained rather than sentenced to life then he could be declared sane at some point and be released. If he is sentenced to life I really can't see that happening ever.

yeh sppose its just that now they get caught for those kind of acts, i was 2 young to see the hindley and brady cases but i'll probably remember this one for a long time

Sadly there also still exists in English law a right called Droit de Seigneiur (I think - spelling).
This gave the right to any lord of the land to deflower any virgin under his control on the evening before her marriage. This 'right' still exists, it has been surpassed by more recent laws concerning rape but for example some of the 'titles' you can now buy actually still come with this 'right' attached.
Sick fucks have always existed, they sadly always will. Just be carefull before you leap to condemn. Stefan Kisko died 18 months after he was released, having been shown to be incapable of producing sperm despite having served 18 years for the 'rape and murder' of Leslie Moleseed - her murderer still remins at large. He served over 15 years for a crime he was shown to have been incapable of doing.
How many innocent must be locked up to get one guilty? How many innocents have to be killed before we decide to take away freedoms?
I don't know, I'm not trying to be arsey but I really don't know the answer.
