What he said. Atilla deserves the honor of having a stand named after him when we finally get Falmer.

The money is a bonus-the publicity is priceless:clap:

Now-all you people who don't have a copy order some now and keep it in the charts another week.

Well done everyone.

Lets all go out and buy another copy and keep it in there for next week!
Just about every record shop in the country (plus every branch of Woolies, etc) likes to have a rack displaying the Top 20 singles.

I wonder how many requests Skint will now get to supply copies.

Apparently, it's 'between 50p and a pound' for every copy sold goes to the artist (Seagulls Ska), who will then pass it all on to the club. Plus, the distributors (a company called Vital) are classing it as a charity record, which mean they will not be charging Skint as much as normal for distribution.

I was wondering what the chances were of Sheff Utd playing the single when we are up there next weekend, I am not suggesting we have a S Yorks/Sussex love fest but it would be a nice gesture on their part.

The big retailers plan what they are going to display in 'the chart' in advance.

Woolies Chart (& probably most other chains) bears little resemblance to the Top 40 as it includes current week new releases, most singles peak sales are in the first week of release.

The big retailers certainly won't be buying a single that is only of local interest, especially in it's second week.

Woolworths a just a freak. Theres artists that are tied to Woolworths (Chris DeBurgh, for one) and ones that refuse to be sold there.

However, most real music stores and independent stores use the 'real' charts, as do Tesco.

Who the f*** would want to buy Chris De Burgh's CDs anyway?

Perhaps as a means of getting in his good books and thus having a crack at his daughter maybe.

Perhaps HMV just deleted him from their catalogues because he is shit?

The reason some big chains stock all the top 20 is because it'll make them more money, that is simply the only reason. As much as today is a fantastic achievement, it doesn't in any way mean we'll see Seagulls Ska in stores across the country, it just won't be worth it for the companies involved.

Still, forget about that, this is about today and the magic number 17 :drink:
