Not when they are the only ones who are truly allowed to pose the questions on here! Their word is final if you enjoy posting on here, and don't want to be banned.

I'm being careful because Bozza probably has it in for me, after I had to drop out of paying this years sponsorship money

Mods can kiss my ass when it comes to opinions, I'm a supporter as much as them,
but just not as big a bully.

I agree with everything you guys have said, but in my limited experience Bozza is the most fair and reasonable mod on this site, so I certainly wouldn't pick him out for criticism.

Fair play

OK, "The Truth" (and your obviously hiding your real identity) here is a situation:

I meet someone at an Albion game, from then on am I only allowed to talk solely about the Albion or am I allowed to maybe talk about the weather, or where the nearest toilet is?

What you are proposing is ridiculous.

NO IT'S NOT!

I've been on NSC since its started and it's declined really, really badly!

There is a seperate forum for Big Brother, why can't we have one for everything
non Albion/football?

I for one couldn't give a flying f*** as to what your favourite frozen pizza is.
This is an Albion message board - can we keep it to that? Can the kids just
post their drivel on facebook/myspace whatever.......

Meeting up and talking to someone has no relation to sitting on your ass next to a computer.

Get a life.

Yup. Turn the Big Brother forum into the off-topic forum and the main board should be restricted to purely football/Albion related discussion. This is THE main, some would say ONLY, message board for Brighton and Hove Albion and yet at the top of the forum will be 'Favourite Bird You Wank Over' or similar. I hold my hand up to posting 'off topic' stuff on the main board, as do most on here, but I would fully support the change.

This was discussed before, but for some feeble reason that escapes me, the powers that be on here decided that it was untenable.

Lke I said before, I can Respect the fact that some users need NSC as their main form of socialising, but at the end of the day, it must be respected for its official use...FOOTBALL!,
...
Bullying, taunting, sexcism are all things being allowed to be read on this forum and this is what i think is a great shame to a once very well respected fans forum.

why thankyou for "respecting" our use of the forum. it doesnt have an "official" use other than being an online meeting place of wide range of people with one common shared interest: BHAFC. Now, you must either be new or blind because this is how the forum has always been, back to '97 when i found it. if you dont like it, point your browser elsewhere.

Why are there threads based upon TV shows, well figured females, tips on where to eat and countless amounts of top 10 this top 10 that threads?
Its very alarming that a club who's intrest is noticably dropping, has a fans forum which hardly ever debates anything to do with the club or any other!.
Instead we are reading complete garbage which you would expect from those Nuts, zoo,FHM etc magazines. The question is, if we want to encourage people to gain more intrest in the club while they cant actually watch the team, is a fans forum (which seems to be used more as a social utility) gonna attract more intrest to a club dying for intrest? No, It seems the word 'debate' is seen as a joke when certain users share an honest fair opinion, a debate to many users (including some Mods! ) is an opinion related to something non albion related!.

its shocking that this was once a forum that helped keep Albion alive!,

sort it out!

Maybe you should use brightonfans.com instead of NSC. Sounds like much more your kind of place. Very little to debate about the Albion sometimes, even the Argus struggle. Personally, can think of nothing more dreary than a messageboard solely concerned with discussing a football team. That's Golden Gordon stuff. IMHO, like.

But it's not about having a messageboard solely concerned with BHA, it's about splitting the forums into a BHA one and an 'Off Topic' one so that a thread about BHA being bought out by 27 Arab sheikhs won't be lost in a sea of 'What colour was your dump this morning?' polls, or 'What is your favourite type of pavement?'

Dear The Truth

As the wise man said "Don't complain about the traffic, you are the traffic".

Get involved and start football threads and people will contribute actively and with passion. Sit on the sidelines and then come on and gripe and you don't have much of a leg to stand on.

You've been contributing for all of a day (well done for getting off the fence btw) and every football related thread you've been involved in has been "a thread" becasue other people have contributed.

Finally, there are actually only so many football threads that can be started without repeating ourselves (cue yet another debate on Lynch, Midfield, Cox, Lewes, Loans, Hammond, Tannoy, where will we finish, favourite former player, Leon Knight etc etc) - which doesn't stop them happening and doesn't stop people contributing. Feel free to come up with new and interesting variants but until you do, users will fill the void with non-football related chat - and long may it continue.

Tricky thing to do in practice tho. How do you split the Albion stuff and the non-Albion stuff? What category do chip forks at Withdean fall under for example? Think that on the whole the current setup works OK. The rubbish threads tend to sink fairly quickly, so it sort of self-regulates. IMHO, like.

I may be new but I always find the single most boring threads on a football website are those bemoaning people talking about things that can be entertaining rather than many corners did we have in the 1952-3 season or anything else they feel is more relevant.

would you sit in the pub with your mates and talk about football all evening. if so what a f***ing boring night out that must be.

I guess I come as close to being an official of NSC as anyone, and I can categorically state that NSC's "official use" is not football.

Thread closed?

(It's also worth pointing out that 'The Truth' registered with an email address that didn't exist, although I extracted one that did prior to letting them post and also IP logs very strongly suggest that this is the second identity of an existing NSC user.

But I thought I'd let it run and see where it got to...)
