Cunha and mbeumo, I can’t make my mind up if that’s good business or not. Two solid players that’ll no doubt improve them and I guess proven in the league. Man utd signing from mid table prem sides takes some getting use to.
Football-wise it's a good move - but it looks like United could still make a sow's ear out of it. Chelsea, to their credit (he says through gritted teeth) have started not paying such high wages to their young players; not high by PL footballer standards that is, not the real world that the rest of us live in.
.................and then in rush Shambles United looking to get Mbeumo to accept £250K a week wages. FFS, the guy's on £50K a week at Brenford, and will rightly expect a pay rise when moving to a bigger club - but five times his current wage? Madness! If clubs like Chelsea (and I suspect some others) are trying to slowly reign in excessive wage payments, United will be stupid to ignore that trend. Offer him £100K a week, haggle a bit if necessary - but £250K? Tell him to dream on!

It makes you wonder if he might switch to Saudi instead if he's after that sort of money

Reports today that Chelsea may try to sign Kudus. If ever there was a Chelsea-ish signing, this is it. Relatively young, talented when he can be arsed, anonymous when he can’t, previously on the Albion’s radar and ultimately a bit of a mercenary who we walked away from trying to agree a deal with because he insisted on a release clause in his contract.

Odd move that, most West Ham fans I know seem to think he is crap.

Ah. They thought he was great in his first season, then- and who could possibly have predicted this?- he had a crap season last year as West Ham's form nosedived and he realised his teammates were nowhere near as good as him in the main (and remembered he has a release clause).

Chelsea are trying, very alliteratively, to sign Mike Maignan from Milan.

Sanchez must be a matter of weeks away from another massive sulk, which, for a man who cost them £25 million and who still has six or seven years left on his contract, really is an amusing prospect.

Couldn't agree more. He's such a Chelsea signing. Blows hot and cold, amazing on his day and frustrating when not. He can just slot into the Sancho space that's being vacated.

I think the thing with West Ham is that they expected him to be leaving sooner rather than later, their frustration is that they wanted season one Kudus for the duration and then for someone to come in and meet a lofty release clause. the problem is, season two has been inconsistent at best and that release clause seems a bit out of reach, so they're stuck with a player that never really wanted to be there, wanting out

Agreed. Throwing £250K a week at Mbeumo is madness. It sets a dangerous precedent. What happens next time they try to sign a top player? “If he’s on that, I want double.” United’s biggest issue is refusing to accept where they are. They need a phased rebuild. Young, hungry players who’d give anything to play at Old Trafford. Sell a clear vision, stick to it, and build step by step. They still carry massive pull, that should be enough to sign good young players at a decent wage and go from there.

Mbeumo's greedy agents will of course argue that Rashford is on £300K a week (another stupid decision by ManU) - United's response should of course be, "Yes, but not for a minute longer than it takes us to get rid of him - we're not paying anything like that silly money any more. Take it or leave it."
But will they? Have they got the sense?

Bruno Fernandes is probably my least favourite player in the whole league, but credit where it’s due any player who rejects Saudi blood money to stay in Europe gets at least an ounce of respect from me

Or maybe they're not asking for anything like that sort of money and the £250,000 rumours are made up figures leaked from the Man United camp to try and get their fans onside if they don't manage to get the transfer over the line.

The Man City spending spree begins.

€70m on Reijnders from Milan.
Also heavily linked to Cherki from Lyon, although he might come comparatively cheap given Lyon's troubles.

Was just going to post this

I watch a fair bit of Milan and he's a very good player, and seems like the sort that would do well in the PL(sadly)

70 million Euros for Reijnders sounds a bit deer. Was that his release Claus?
